I find really interesting riot philosophy about " X champion is on radar"

They nerfed Malzahar, Brand and Swain, because they were "on radar" for a long time for being "too strong" ( despite no one complained about them). Interesting though, Wukong has 59% win ratio with people who has 125+ games with him, and has a 53,71% win ratio for A LONG TIME. Not only that, his play pattern is pretty stupid, since it is all point and click, and even when behind, he can easily burst out squishy with little time to react due to his stealth + E + youmuu ms. He only has problems against natural tanks top, because his kit is all about burst. But early on, he still can zone you a lot. Why wasn't he nerfed too?

Edit : People with 15-50 games have a 58.8% win ratio with him LOL, which means he actually doesn't require much skill to get full potential of him. Edit 2 : All the 3 mages who got nerfed not only are immobile, but skillshot retaliant ( Malzahar not exactly, because he can kill targets without his Q if ahead, but you need to be dumb to get that close to malzahar)

I play wukong and his high win rate comes from his high utility and damage while still posses a really simple kit. Is basically a simplified version of lee sin. Now if you take him top he really struggles against anyone that can sustain himself in lane, he has no built in sustain himself so if you trade constantly with him eventually he will have to recall (that in addition to his mana pool make his lane sustain really bad). In the jungle he does a bit better with decent early ganks and powerful ganks whenever his ult is up, No CC thou (besides ult) force you to pull gank on a similar fashion than eve or Shaco and not many people is familiar with that kind of play making his early weak, in addition by taking him jungle you basically remove his passive and you still have no sustain so you will have to recall more often than your average jungler.

Overall the reason he hasn't been nerfed is not because he is not overpowered is because of hat I consider RIOT definition of balance is a tad bias since they prioritize "fun" over actual true balance. Playing against wukong doesn't feel like he cheated on you meanwhile brand, malzahar and swain leaves you with the sensation that no matter what you do there is no way to win over them (even thou they clearly are).

good luck finding a match as swain...he was forced into top lane unless facing a short range mid and people go "wtf?" when they have a mage top because they would rather a tank or a fighter or both

brand's damage has always been all he had and the masteries pushed it over the top, so that's justified, but swain wasn't over the top and requires suicide range to use even fractions of his damage and one of the worst if not the worst early game in the game

malzahar has always had his damage because he is pretty much the most immobile and defenseless mage in the game but his burst is ultra strong. as people have discussed, if they rework malz, it will be around his voidlings instead of his spells

they also hit anivia (really...anivia...), twisted fate (again, really...) and many others that were fun to play but only viable in highly competitive environments and with decent casual players. A twisted or anivia will rarely carry.

Anivia will carry every damn games on teams, rarely on solo queue but on teams she is a beast. Swain problems comes from his sustain and not his damage, his has similar problems than vlad, they are hard to get them rolling but once they are there is little way to kill them besides a well placed ignite

As a Malzahar main, I can say that I like that his Q and W are skill shot as i just have to click "in the right area". One of the only things I would like changed with his E would be maybe a slightly longer range (have to get DANGEROUSLY close to cast it as an immobile squishy) and/or a longer jump range on target death. I've had it happen too many times it jumps to a minion, then that minion decides to path closer to me and out of range of anyone, except maybe an unknowing player trying to engage, thus denying further mana regen, which leads to not being able to cast spells again since they cost ALOT and that just starts a chain reaction leading to a squishy mage relying on AA's. Later game it's not as bad, as you've had time to build the mana items that you HAVE to buy with him.

mana costs notes:

Starting mana pool is 326 lvl 18 (unaltered) mana pool 1091 mana regen is 6.0 (+0.8 per lvl) per 5

Q costs 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 W costs 90 / 95 / 100 / 105 / 110 E costs 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 E gives back 10(60) / 14(84) / 18(108) / 22(132) / 26(156) per kill (full wave of 6) R costs 100

But this is just a passive aggressive rant...I would hate for them to decide to change him completely and break everything...
