You know until my last game I'd forgotten why I hated the removal of green wards from shop

Then I remembered when I realised it was impossible for me to both stay alive and farm with constant jungler attention. Honestly, how exactly are you supposed to lay down and keep up sufficient vision for yourself pre 20 minutes?

The state of warding is sad. It's been adjusted to fit LCS and it screwed anyone below platinum.

League is gonna head in the direction of SC2 if Riot continue doing everything for the sake of esports.

learn where the enemy jungler starts do some basic math on when he will complete a full clear or a oneside clear OR a camp buff buff clear these are the 3 standard clears for most junglers and plan out your vission this way. It's really easy to ward if you know what junglers do.

Theorchero4 votes

It's not terribly difficult.

The absolute fastest a jungler can arrive to a lane is like 2:45, and that's if they are a hyper-clear jungle and head straight towards you. Generally speaking if you ward at 3:00 you're perfectly fine because you can place another ward and by the time the second one expires you're ready for your first back and can get a pink anyway.

Top lane:

Don't push like a retarded monkey and ward the bush closest to you. If you're red side you pretty much have to let the enemy laner push you in and ward your tri. Otherwise you will get 100% fucked by any half decent jungler. If you're blue, just don't push so recklessly that the enemy can freeze. Ward river.

Mid: Ward one side, preferably top bush (unless you know enemy jg started top side) and hug it.

Bot: you have two trinkets.

It really isn't difficult. Only exceptions being Zac (who is basically permabanned) and Eve who pretty much can ignore all wards.

The best way to ward against Eve is to ward her jungle camps.

Actually read my post. First bit of laning is the only tricky bit because you can purchase pinks after first back.

Green wards were horrible things.

Stop pushing lane and wondering why you keep getting ganked.

Learn to freeze.

Zero Skill Tank1 votes

If you wonder why you are getting the downvotes, it's because a) you can't freeze a lane properly if enemy jungler doesn't want you to. He can stop by and reset your wave, and b) towerdives are easier than ever.

DarkRitual2 votes

Depends where you are freezing it. Ideally, you're freezing it on your side of the lane. This accomplishes two things 1: making it a bad place for the enemy jungler to be. They can't get a great gank, so would need to turret dive. This is risky, and still usually not worth (lots of things factor in, but generally you need a lot in your favor to make it worthwhile) 2: sets up for your own jungler to gank. They should be dropping a ward if they come up, gank or not. This gives you vision at the least, and at best gets a kill and an open lane for awhile to get farm in.

The Deckowner1 votes

there is no need to gank for the jungler, if you are freezing before your tower, enemy jungler is just gonna come in and shove the wave while you have a hard time farming under tower/dive you with the huge wave of minion.

the way wards were before the rework made junglers nearly useless in laning if the laners had any brain. now at least there is a little downtime and a good jungler can exploit this downtime, before wards were just up all the time and if you were not a farm jungler, you were fucked.

Vistha Kai3 votes

And what about mid lane which has like 7 gank routes?

You have one ward which isn't available half of the time and pink ward which lasts until the first gank basically.

Raoul2 votes

Wow, its nearly like junglers are supposed to be a threat

Vistha Kai1 votes

Because making me spend 150+ gold on wards every time I came back to base wasn't enough, right?

Where's the strategy in "You never have enough information to make a decision"?

Raoul1 votes

You are not supposed to have a freaking maphack! You are supposed to use the information you can get and make your plays around it. Ward one side and play around that side. You are not supposed to have Vision all over the map, if that was the case, we wouldnt have bushes in the game. Sry, but if you cant utilize the trinket wards right, thats your problem and yours alone.

Vistha Kai1 votes

What the fuck. There was a ward limit before and it was exactly the same it is now.

"Ward whole map", what a joke.

Consume a charge to place an invisible Sight Ward item.png Stealth Ward which reveals the surrounding area for 60 – 120 seconds. Stores one charge every 180 – 120 seconds, up to 2 maximum charges.

60 seconds of vision of one brush every 180 seconds. In late game you get to keep two wards up for 30 seconds.

In an ideal world your enemy is worrying about the same thing.

Realistically, you're probably the one getting camped, and if you die most junglers are going to look at your lane as less appealing. It's what I see game after game, and I main support.

I would start playing champions that either have excellent wave clear, and or can survive a gank early game because of their kit. I like to play Fiora when I'm top lane, and sometimes Irelia. For mid lane I play Syndra and Annie, they both can usually stop a gank if given the chance. I agree though, the state of warding currently is really bad and favors teams that have a high amount of communication and experience.

The removal of Green Wards was supposed to make the game less safe, that's the entire point

Freeze the lane

I miss wards, I got myself in the habit always buying a ward on my back, and a pink(usually) but now, I can barely remember to buy a pink.

Don't farm.

Farm with skillshots.

if you play Riven/Yasuo farm under tower and wait till you outscale them.

Make sure ur jgler isn't shit and takes drags/towers elsewhere.

Buy sightstone lol, or do like everyone else and play hyper mobility that can't be effectively ganks like Zed, Leblanc, Fizz, Ahri, etc.

Gonna play devil's advocate, but...

Learn to manage and time your resources.

Laning should not be a "ward race", where whoever blindly dumps more wards wins.
