So are tier 3 boots ever going to return?

I made a thread regarding this 3 years ago) and also 2 years ago both which have found themselves on the front page with more than 130+ upvotes and yet not a single response by any Rioter.

Did you guys simply forget about these items, you removed them and said you'd bring them back "soon". If they're a scrapped idea at least give us an official word that they are no longer going to be returning instead of just scrapping it and staying silent.

Also on a side note a tier 3 boots with damage reduction wouldn't be a bad idea at this point.

If you bring them back as they exactly were, then you just have the same problem that lead to them being removed. What was meant to be a choice, eventually just became everyone getting the same thing with occasional off branch users. If they are brought back, I'd imagine they'd be entirely different in nature, and each needing to be powerful enough to be equal, viable choices with each other. Personally, this is my opinion, but I don't think we need another underlying sub-system in the game with boot enchantments.

We've already Runes and Keystones to deal with.

i miss Furor... made kiting easier. getting 12% movement speed that decays over 2 sec was super handy.

i can only imagine captain on rakan to give allies that 10% bonus MS when they move towards me.

riot could turn that into a really cool thing.

but sadly as they said enough times by now, they dont give a shit about the na boards. try to post this on reddit

I think bringing them back as they were or anything close to that would be a bad idea. I've liked the idea of making boots a proper item, though. Make tier 2 boots just about stats and remove the passives, then make tier 3 boots better stats and have passives, and introduce more passives to create more choices. So, for instance, you'd go from basic boots to armor boots to a choice between a version of current ninja tabi but with more armor OR a different passive related to reducing damage from AD sources, like maybe something that reduces physical burst damage.

Part of that is because I feel like boots have too strong of an effect when they're first bought and matter too little later in the game, so having a three-tier system for them would smooth that out.

This was long time ago so I might be wrong but I believe the last thing Riot said about t3 boots is that they do not have any plans to return them. Their stance on this matter probably hasn't change since, so a reason why they do not respond to your posts might be because they don't have anything new to say. Still it would be nice if they would say something like "hey beautiful boards community we do not have any plans to bring t3 boots back" and maybe add few more words on the matter or not.

Why do you want t3 boots back anyway?

I mean, I wouldn't mind having Alacrity Enchantment back on my boots. I always thought that I'd get more value from that boot enchantment than the others due to the mere fact that it's relatively consistent.

Umm, no, why would you even think that? Riot had clearly stated reasons for removing them and, as far as i can see, those reasons haven't changed. And Rito don't backtrack on no decision of theirs that easily anyway.

I loved Tier 3 boots but I also remember it causing tons of annoying BS with champions like Udyr. It helped the whole gimmicky "I do nothing but act like split pusher Trynd before zooming away" play-style.

Here's where I stand

I actually like t3 boots BUT they will always amount to the same thing: Different champs will have clearly optimal choices. So let's not pretend that it would bring some new golden age of build innovation, but i would be fun to have another layer of mini powerspike
