How do you get to "90% win rate in masters" level ?

Like, I don't understand how do they do it. I saw a korean player getting masters 90% win rate with playing fuckin' master yi and shit. Then that tarzan guy had like 3 accounts in the top 10 korea ladder. Closest I got was this season to d1 with a 65/maybe 70% win rate, don't remember exactly. but it doesn't matter since I fucking dropped to d4 later anyway. I don't get how they achieve that, we all get 0/10 players on our teams, but how the hell do they win those games, especially this season. How do they win when their bot is 0/20 combined, or maybe they don't let that happen, but still. I'm just fascinated how can you learn to be that good at this game and bypass the shitty matchmaking. I even watched their games... but I literally don't see what they're doing that makes them win so hard all the time.

You only pick specific champions versus teams who suck versus them and let them run loose.

In other words, you play 5-6 different champs in a role, and have mastered them to a point where you know which one is the right fit versus the team you're playing against. Also, it's good to have a preset team, so they can trade picks with you. This allows you to last pick/close to last pick, so that you can choose the right one, rather than being countered.

You also need to realize: the player base up there is so small, that everyone generally knows everyone to some extent. If you know their playstyle counters yours..... yeah. You can dodge. Or you can get a pretty good idea in queue who you're fighting.

Some players are just straight up that much better than other players. Players like TF Blade, Tarzan, Apdo are crazy good in SoloQ and are simply so much better than EVEN challenger players that they get rank 1 effortlessly.

Or for example, Faker usually sits in top 50, if not top 10 (he's decayed because he hasn't been playing recently), challenger. If you ever watch his stream he doesn't even really try. He'll pick random champions, ban nothing, and dick around in game.

Some players are simply that much better.

The presumption of the discussion is Master vs Master. You don't earn 90% by spamming one champion.

Faker has 57% win rates (and he spams about 7 champions) (hide on bush)

He does NOT have 90% win rate.

I'm responding as to how someone in Masters does it.

Tarzan for example has a 69% Taliyah, 63% Shen.

Most of those win rates are inflated by the times you play in lower tiers. A low masters player could HIT masters with around a 75% win rate overall.

Except 90% of the games he’s played are actually in gold/Plat/Diamond. Instead if you look at his past 20 games only - he’ll have a closer win rate to around 50-60%.

No one has a 90% win rate after thousands of games. Faker having a 57% win rate is impressive considering he spent thousands of games in top 10 Challenger - meaning he has a 57% win rate against top challenger players. ~~~~

Doubt it for a couple major reasons:

-Most of these players are perennial. I other words, they placed Gold I + in placements, and pretty much played vs other challengers/masters/diamonds/ who also placed there (Most Diamond/Plat would have placed Gold III-II, which means the exposure those players had to those players is probably minimal, especially given that Challenger/Master players seem to have only about 500 games a year.

-New accounts would have started off with the high win rate. However..... Challenger/Master rankings have 1000 LP to actually rank. In other words, the 100 LP you need toward the bottom are skittles towards the relative number of games you have to play at high elos. You could easily blackout any win rates you had climbing... just by trying to climb 1 rung.

P.S. Faker has NOT played thousands of games on his main account this year.

I remeber Dopa saying if the team compositions are not good he dodges, he even said he knew which team will win before game starts.

well this kinda comes down to mastering the game for lack of better words.

just like in chess we can all learn and know the basics and have an idea how to play but those great hall of fame chess players see 10-15 moves ahead. its really all mental. the ability to predict and calculate what should happen when and where.

if i move this piece how would my enemy react . same thing in league ( well when it is played as it should be ) its strategy sadly in the last few seasons that seems to be less and less apart of it.

but it is mind blowing that those players can do that. even if i wanted to and could play 18 hrs a day and learn every possible situation at this game i dont think i can do it. let alone have the dedication or focus to do so.

simple, by duoing and using that to your advantage. a good duo partner is one less feeder to worry about. if you have a partner that is equal to you in skill level and that you can trust you will win more games, its not rocket science. this applies to all skill levels.

Macro.

Most people Silver+ have a decent grasp on their micro game on at least a few champs. Macro is what separates them from Dia+

When to push, freeze, objective, baron, dragon, when to be in what lane when to roam etc, are harder skills to learn and master.
