Lux feels like a worse version of Xerath.

She has a little bit more of utility for much less damage and expensive manacosts.

She makes a much better Support than Xerath for it, if that is any consolation. It is to me.

Not enough consolation for me, I'm afraid. T_T

rofl yeah too bad for lux mains who played her since before xerath even existed. Support lux can diaf.

Her passive allows for greater harass and since her ult is a line nuke it's much easier to use than Xeraths.

Not to mention the stupid short cooldown it has at higher ranks.

Actually if you take into account that Lux ult only does 58% the damage of Xerath ult, and view the cooldown accordingly, (ie if you traded damage for cooldown reduction linearly), Xerath ult when damage is equivocated with lux ult has a 58 second cooldown to lux 50 second cooldown.

Of course the effectiveness of this comparison can vary, mainly if Xerath ult starts doing overkill/more damage than is needed, but in general the two are pretty damn close.

^ Basically this. She has a lot more utility -- a shield, a slowing zone of control, a potential double-snare, and a fairly reliable finishing move if enemies nearly escape, that's on a very low cooldown and also procs her passive.

Don't get me wrong, I think her mana costs are too high currently, but I don't think she needs any other changes. She plays differently from Xerath, in my experience, and I prefer her playstyle.

Xerath slow deals more damage than lux one. Even though he can control less than her, is better for him to damage. Double snaring is really hard most of the times, at least against experienced players. Her shield is OK, but IMO, xerath deals way more damage, and doesn't have that much less utility. A single target potential stun and aoe slow.

I cant believe that you're serious. LoL.

They both have high range so they're same. It's not a good argument do you even know? Lux ult and E are easy as fck meanwhile with Xerath you should aim them. Xerath is much harder. Also, Xerath Q costs 120 mana with spammer CD. You cant compare them. I know you will say that he has a passive about mana regen but it's his passive. If their passive are different you cant expect from Lux to get same mana benefit.

It's much easier, however, to use either a E+R or Q+R combo with her than with Xerath... and that's a good chunk of reliable damage, even though Xerath can easily do more if he lands everything. It's hard to land everything with him, though. At least one of your ult charges will likely miss against any competent player.

Enemies should fear Lux once she reaches 6, as she can snipe them down when they're trying to back (508 + 155% AP on her E+R combo at that level).

Not really. If she goes in to proc her passive, a lot of her opponents can nuke her for her trouble. Zed, in particular, is someone you cannot proc her passive on without dying (unless you laser him).

Mal the Red2 votes

If Zed is snared, he can't do anything to her.

darkdill1 votes

When can Lux be the aggressor against a Zed? If she fires her Q at him, he usually dodges it and then dives her.

She can only snare him AFTER he uses his blink.

Mal the Red1 votes

And more often than not he'll use his blink to dodge her E.

Idk I'd say her ult is much more versatile and hits harder late game. I mean 1k dmg to 2-3 people upfront is insane not even including passive procs. And its up every 30s...

xerath ult has a 1.29 ratio and 900 base damage... which is going to hit harder late game I wonder

Xerath has less utility and worse CC.

Lux's shield is really underappreciated.

DJ Di01 votes

Xerath is pretty much Lux/Ziggs 2.0; they mana regen nerfs didn't hit him as hard as those two.

... So if lux is a shitty version of xerath, does that mean morgana is a better version of xerath?

Since, ya know, lux is a morgana clone...

Lux is nice to look at... so ha
