Seriously, nerf tanks.

There is no reason that a champion who can 5v1 and survive for a good 15-20 seconds needs to do more damage than a carry at all levels. If you wanna be tanky, fine, be tanky. But you trade damage for being tanky. -- at least that's how it works in most games. Here at League, we think it's a great idea to make the most invincible champions one shot people. 'cause, you know, balance.

Games are decided by who has more tanks, these days.

Then why don't you run 5 tanks and see how far that gets you in ranked

Well, back during OFA... 5 Volis destroyed everything, 5 Singed beat 5 Rengars, etc. Tanks are just better.

We played very different One For All games then, for one, and second that has absolutely nothing to do with 5v5 Ranked games.

You serious? Most people run bruiser top + carry jungle, sometimes you run a real tank top + bruiser jungle but that's as tanky as you'll get. Tanks are mostly seen in the support role nowadays and those really can't oneshot anything.

Pro tip: If you're getting oneshot by Malphite just flash his ult and kite him out, don't teamfight if your carries don't have flash up. Even if he follows your flash he'll be completely useless as his ult is half his damage. If you're getting run over by Mundo then l2ban Mundo. He's the only one who can really survive vs a full team for more than 3-5 seconds.

Games are definitely not dominated by tanks nowadays, this isn't the cinderhulk meta.

To be fair, you have a pretty hard time without a front line in this meta. A really hard one lol

Mundo, Voli, Malph, Amumu, Rene, Trundle (building full tank), Garen, Naut, Darius (you know, one AD item, rest tank), etc. None of them are killable without a team effort, yet they can all near-instantly kill you (or in the case of Amumu, just CC you to death), despite having 1 or no AD/AP items.

Just don't see how that's fair.

If you're getting insta-killed by the likes of Nautilus, Amumu, and Malphite, you're definitely doing something wrong. Some of those do have a rather large amount of burst, but they also pay for it and it's very conditional.

Frikgeek1 votes

Only Renekton and Darius should be able to burst to your squishies, the rest can deal a lot of damage only if you let them stick, if you peel them off they won't do much. And even Renekton can't really oneshot a midlaner if he builds RoA or Zhonya's, he doesn't have that much damage.

Renekton and Darius don't have nearly as much utility as the true tanks nor can they duel the likes of Voli, Mundo, or Trundle. They also get shit on by carry toplaners that can kite like Ryze or GP.

It's fair because they can't deal enough damage to kill other bruisers or tanks, they can only kill squishies. On the other hand, those squishies can easily take them out if their team gives them enough time to peel. If it takes you more than 5 seconds to kill a tank as an ADC you're doing something seriously wrong.

Mundo is the only exception here, but really, he should just be banned.

Malph, Amumu, and Nautilus are the only tanks there.

You mean fed tanks

Niyumi1 votes

I mean all tanks. Voli from level 1 can out-damage any carry, and continues to do so the entire game.

Ratbert3 votes

You mean voli can duel a carry, as a fighter. Which is different from out damaging, or volis would be dealing 50k+ damage to champs by the end of games in order to consistently beat any carry.

Niyumi1 votes

AA > Q > AA > R > AA > W > Win. Throw in some Es. His W does half of your health if you're not a super tank, and his AAs are just absurd for the fact he builds no AD.

Ratbert1 votes

That's a duel. Besides, end game, most duels between carries are one second long because they blow each other up in a second (like 3 aa's and pow), so voli's is slow in comparison anyways.

It's like saying mf is bad because her single target duelling is shit.

Games are decided by who has more tanks, these days.

  1. There needs to be a dominant class
  2. It's better that it's tanks than assasins or carries
  3. There are ways to beat tanks. Read a guide.
  4. if the balance of the game is governed by team fights, you're hamstringing yourself.

Get more super minions than them and tanks are irrelevant. You ever tried to take out a wave of minions as a tank?

Welcome to the league of tanks. People like their broken champs (all the ones you named up there) so expect to get down voted quite a few times before someone agrees, which I do.

As far as I'm concerned, balance has gone out the window with teams running tri-tank compositions ( top-jg-support). I count the juggernaut class among tanks because one damage item shouldn't qualify a champ to melt another champ better than an assassin with half a build of pure damage. Bruiser-tank and double tank face check a team with many low cooldown CC's and %max health and/or bonus health scaling abilities, and there's little need for carries to even be there.

I find the only reason people don't run full 5 tanks is because people still have preferable champs, and I for one refuse to give up on my champs just cause others are stronger. I'm just not in any rush to hit ranked so soon for obvious reasons.

how do you explain double adc comps in pro games then? the first pro games this season had 3 to 5 adc in multiple games.

for these people real money is involved. they dont play favourites, they play whichever teamcomp has the best chance of winning. and right now most of them are running a mix of assassins, a support and 2 adc. one always on bottom and one in the jungle or mid lane.

it looks very similar in solo que.
