Would another hybrid item be too much?
I mean before we had 3 now we only have 2. Would a third hybrid item be too much for people wanting more ad/ap?

Hybrid champions are just a complete mess and they should just delete hybrid items and slightly tweak the champions that used to build those items so that they are no longer hybrid.
Before Guinsoo and with the release of BOTRK, Jax was almost purely AD if not for the AP sheen used to give. Kayle has been a pure AP champion since season 3. Akali is built with Gunblade only because of her passive (if she didn't have this passive, she would be purely built AP) and AP Irelia midlane is a cheese like old AP DFG Tristana.
I don't understand why Riot still want to have some kind of hybrid champions / items in this game. The only result they got so far was extreme case of abuse because of hyper-utlra-mega-synergy with one item or another.
Delete Guinsoo and Gunblade, tweak the champions so that they will benefit from AD or AP purely while keeping their power (ex : give a slight AD ratio on Jax's W so that he doesn't lose power because he will no longer have access to Gunblade and Guinsoo and so on with Kayle and Akali) and you are good to go.
Question : But, Beuhlakor, what about optional / troll builds like old AP Tristana, AP Kangaroo Jax in URF and so on ?
Answer : nobody gives a -------- about them and they are either played in non competitive mode (URF, One for All etc) or toxic as ------ and quickly nerfed to oblivion when they rise to popularity in normal / ranked games.
O.o Have I been playing jax in season 2 wrong the whole time? I literally went triforce + guinsoons + gunblade and depending on the enemy hp/ad items or hp/ap items for the ult to gain more mr or armor, as for kayle, she became a full ap champion due to some series of buffs to her ap side and removal of some items making a hybird build less appealing to her
Yeah, and we should have more hybrid scaling champs too (no sarcasm). I mean how many Paladin or battle mages type characters exist in other mythos? The concept of a mage that can get in your face and duke it out or a fighter that actually use spells is a design that I would love to see in the game. Along with a few new items for diversity's sake. The potential is limitless.
You can have a battle mage type champion that relies on AD or AP depending on the kit. It's not because he wants to smash your face AND to cast spells that he has to build AD and AP. You can balance his whole kit around AD or AP.
Nothing ever prevented spells to have AD ratios. Or melee abilities to have AP ratios.
You are right, but the AP/AD scaling would give them unique interactions with different types of items. More options, more customization of play styles more fun.
I feel paladin or battle mage types don't really need to scale off of both AP and AD to necessarily fulfill their fantasy. Taric gets very close to the paladin archetype, for example, and mainly scales off of health and armor, and we have many battle mages, including mages that rely on autoattacks (Viktor mainly, though Orianna and Lulu also sort of count), that scale purely off of AP. On the flipside, there isn't yet a champion quite like the one you mentioned, and I too would love to see a really close-ranged mage who'd blend magical power with some kind of martial prowess. I suspect that could be achievable with just a pure AP champion, perhaps even a mage that scales with health, though hybrid scalings could perhaps help flesh out different parts of their kit (e.g. more AP for more magic, more AD for better fighting strength).
They don't need to, but it would be fun!
Probably. I mean there are already 2 and a half;
and
(which is the half, since the attack speed works with a lot of hybrid champ kits). The thing is that hybrid champs usually stop being hybrid the champs the moment they actually get played; Kayle is an AP auto attacker who happens to also scale off AD, Xin is an AD champ that happens to scale off of AP (AP Xin is a thing, but fuck anyone that plays AP Xin), Akali is really just an AP assassin with AD scalings, Irelia is an Ad bruiser with AP...you get the idea. Anyway, making another hybrid item would either be a.) too good and be built on champs that only really need one of the scalings (see: Guinsoo's Yi) or b.) would suck and only be built on off-meta builds for Kayle or Jax
If I was going to do this I'd do something along the lines of
Enchanted Warhammer Buildpath

I feel it's already possible to get more AD and AP just by buying full AD and full AP items separately, but more to the point, I think it might be better to have fewer hybrid items, not more.
For one, I think Guinsoo's Rageblade at this point is probably not a "real" hybrid item, despite having hybrid stats. With the exception of Kayle and Teemo, all champions who purchase it are AD (or at least scale with AD), and the AP is mostly a dummy stat to fill out an item whose effects would be way too strong if it were cheaper. The AP doesn't even synergize internally with Guinsoo's, so it would likely do better as a pure AS/AD item, or better yet, a pure attack speed/on-hit item, which would still end up catering to AD and AP on-hit champions without giving anyone stats they wouldn't normally want to purchase (e.g. AP on Vayne).
Hextech Gunblade is a little more complicated, since it does have valuable internal synergy with its hybrid stats, but if you look at its top buyers, all of them scale with AP. It's kind of in an awkward spot now that spell vamp was removed on everything else, but I think it should likely still be made a pure AP item: AD champions already have Death's Dance for their own vamp, and Blade of the Ruined King if they want a sustain item with a damage + slow active, so it's not like they'd be deprived of options if they lost any reason to buy the item. Meanwhile, though, many AP champions would love a little bit of extra damage and kiting power, and if the item provided movement speed it could be a good AP alternative to Duskblade of Draktharr, where AP assassins could buy themselves a second chance with the vamp while they wait for their cooldowns to come back up (it's already a popular item on Katarina, Fizz and Ekko in its current form).
I think the issue right now with hybrid items, other than them usually being far too niche and binary for their own good (i.e. either they're only good on a few champions, who synergize so well with them that they become overly dependent on their purchase, e.g. Akali and Gunblade, either they're good on more people and generally turn out to be overpowered and kinda dysfunctional), is that hybrid itemization is more or less doomed to fail in the current system. Armor/magic penetration is a huge multiplier on damage-dealers, but is usually not worth it unless the majority of your champion's damage is of one specific type, and so will inevitably make hybrid damage inefficient.
There are a lot of other multipliers in itemization that are oriented purely towards one stat or the other (e.g. Deathcap for AP, Infinity Edge for AD), which makes buying both less practical unless you're ready to implement a whole set of hybrid items purely for the sake of making hybrid stats multiply off of each other (i.e. hybrid penetration, AD/AP multipliers, etc.), which risks creating a pretty massive amount of fallout for champions who don't really need a hybrid build to do well. Even champions that were originally designed to be hybrid tend to do better when played either full AD or AP, not just because of multiplicative items, but also because specializing in a stat tends to emphasize the strengths (and weaknesses) of their kit when built around it, whereas "pure" hybrid builds just don't especially succeed at anything in particular.
It'd be interesting to see "true" hybrid champions where building both AD and AP is required for them to function optimally, but even then it might still be better to have them run through the standard gamut of full AD or AP items instead of giving them dedicated hybrid items.
