In the patch recap for 5.17 Riot Jag claims that kalista is frustrating bcs of her support interplay

Sure, the ult is annoying... but that's not what's annoying about kalista. It's her passive - it takes away from her identity as a support-centric adc and is frustrating as fuck when you are playing a melee with no hard gap closer such as olaf darius garen mordekaiser etc etc

Not trying to be rude but that is where team play comes in. When you see a Kalista locked in for the enemy them someone on your team needs to get some point and click cc like Taric Maokai Naut Vi etc. Then when they get land the first cc, you run in with your melee and insta kill her since she is squishy

You realize that I can't control what my team picks if I'm forced to go adc as last pick right?

A champion that wins or loses games in champ select should not exist.

If you are adc then why are you complaining about playing against her as a melee such as darius? if darius is your go to adc pick then being against kalista isnt the real problem here

I'm fine with Kalista's ult unless she has Soraka as a support, sure it's frustrating to have the support pulled away, or to get knocked up by the support when trying to escape, but it's not that bad.

Kalista hopping away so fast I can't get near her as a champion even with a gap closer without simultaneously flashing and CCing her to prevent further jumps, is extremely frustrating.

It's a 250-350 unit dash. The only champion with a shorter gap closer is Vayne, and that's only after Kalista gets tier 3 boots. You're pretty bad if you can't gap close onto her.

There's a difference between Tumble having a cooldown, and the dash happening after every auto attack, not sure how you thought that was an equivalent comparison in anyway at all.

Did you even read the post? The point being that every other gap closer in the game is longer than Kalista's, and you should have absolutely no need to flash to use yours onto her if she's in range to auto you? The dash is barely more effective than walking as an escape mechanism. It's fantastic as a kiting mechanism, where it doesn't really matter once they use their gap closers because you've already done some damage, but it won't do shit to help you escape a stronger opponent (which pretty much everyone in the game should be 90% of the time).

I certainly did, however when your attack speed is the defining cooldown of the dash, and you build largely attack speed items, suddenly you have a 250-350 unit dash, twice a second, which very quickly makes you escape just about anything, especially if you rend for the extra kiting power. Not to mention that a barely skilled Kalista can kite circles around you, literally, and you will never catch her after building her first item.

It's also tier 2 boots btw, and Vayne's Tumble is only 300 units with a 6 second cooldown to start.. So just having boots of speed Kalista's passive is the same range as an ability that costs mana and has a cooldown. Just so you have the facts straight.

People who complain about Kalista need to buck up and git gud. She is not that hard to beat. People just love to blame losses or them feeding on 'thats opeeeeeeeeeee'
