Why does runic only have 60 AP?

Warrior gives 60 AD

no assuming you complete warrior as your first item by the time you reach lvl 6 thats around what? 70 AD plus your 60 from warriors? plus w/e runes? so like 130+ plus runes and masteries as ap for some reason runic also only gives 60 AP

so plus your ZERO to start with that is... 60... plus runes and masteries.

PLUS as AD you also have the option to finish warrior later... where as with AP... you DON'T have the option to go full damage first becuase they mana sustain from the runic proc is REQUIRED to keep up clear speed against ad champions and still have mana to gank.

you NEED to complete runic FIRST with only t1 or t2 boots

i mean back when blue buff gave ap.. that made up for this... but that was removed a LONG time ago..

The passive scales off ap. AP is also more expensive than ad

Lol no. AD is much more expensive than AP. Runic should have 80~100 AP.

After the item changes for this patch I don't believe that to be true and by looking at the downvotes it doesn't seem to actually be true.

Down votes mean nothing. High end AP items have been steadily nerfed over the years while AD was buffed. Zhonya's Hourglass used to have 120 AP, and now it has 70 AP. Meanwhile, Bloodthirster went from 60 AD (that could stack to 100) to a flat 80 AD.

(And literally point for point, AP costs less gold than AD. Just look at Pickaxe vs Blasting Wand.)

its not only that.. its an item you are REQUIRED to have when u jungle it's not like you can drop it late game... you STILL need for the passive for mana

wrong, ap is cheaper. look at blasting wand and pickaxe both cost relatively around the same one give you 25 ad for 875 one gives you 40 ap for 850

you get more AP per gold

I think it gives less AP because of the mana return effect and doing 250% damage on large monsters (which i believe may count epic ones too)

60 base x 250% = 150. 10% ap base x 250% = 25% ap

it's meant to be a jungling item so they had to cut back the base damage against players.

1 AD isn't the same as 1 AP.

item 1402 Grants 60 ability power and 10% movement speed. Unique Passive – ECHO: Moving and casting generates charges, up to 100. At 100 charges, the next instance of ability damage you deal will expend all charges to deal 80 (+ 10% AP) bonus magic damage to the first enemy hit and summon up to 3 lesser bolts that target nearby enemies, prioritizing enemies damaged by the ability and champions over minions. ECHO deals 「 250% 」 damage to large monsters. Hitting a large monster with this effect will restore 18% of your missing mana.

item 1400 60ad and 10% cdr

seems like runic echo is more for the same cost if you include the passives
