Fiora's identity has not changed significantly.

So I was able to get my hands on the new Fiora. I was able to play as her, and against her in lane. I can say with some certainty that although a couple elements have changed the lane phase for her (previous counters are countered by her, other champions that she used to counter can now outplay her etc) Her late game identity is still the same.

In that she's still not a fighter, she's an assassin. After getting used to her, she has proved that she is the grand duelist. She can one v one anyone. And provided you finish off your first target before another one arrives, you can one v one them too.

However, her team fighting potential isn't any better than it used to be. Sure, there may be an opportunity where you can pop off that AOE heal in the middle of the fight, but keep in mind, it's not a Janna ult. It's not instantaneous, and chances are you're going to use it on the enemy carry, in which, if you and your team are able to destroy the enemy carry, chances are you've won the team fight anyway.

If Fiora is in the frontline she will get melted. She's not an Irrelia or a Jax. She's a master Yi if anything. And she was before the rework too. Now she just traded some invulnerability for sustain, so you can't just R into the carry and hope you kill them. And I like that.

But Riot trying to pass off an obvious nerf for the sake of counter play, as an entire identity change is absolute horse radish. She's an assassin, and always will be one.

but then youve REALLY won it. it seals the deal, as your entire team heals up to full health.

the only gripe i have with the ult, that its weird thematically to stick an aoe heal on a melee adc. but its no doubt very effective.

i also wouldnt attack the backline with this new fiora. i would blow up a fighter who dives on your own carry, or a tank who initiates into your team. one of the advantages of the new fiora is, that she can 1v1 anyone pretty quickly no matter how tanky he is and that she can deal with the cc of these types of champions.

and its easier to pop the marks on a target that is foolsih enough to try and fight you instead of running away.

The old Fiora could stack lifesteal and manfight 1v1 with her attack speed steroid, the new one can't do that... you must blow them with your ult, she doesn't have good dps at all now.
