Tahm's low win rate

Tried out Tahm Kench yesterday because he was free, and he's the only support I don't own. Seems like a decent champ, and given that he (like Sion) is a poke-tank, I'm not sure why he's so low (47% at last check) on the win-rate score.

My only guess was that you need to have a clear-eyed ADC to take advantage of his Ult - is this the problem, or am I missing something more obvious?

Vayne

Sure, but she exists for everyone. I don't know how Champion.gg has Sion listed as #1 support, and Tahm listed as something like #20.

Sion has wide AOE cc abilities that can disrupt Vayne pretty well even if she is invisible.

Plus his playrate in supp is like .5%, so anyone playing him down there is likely a Sion main.

Vayne is probably the hardest counter to Tahm that exists, especially if she goes the BORK route. He has to build health to be relevant with his damage.

There is the problem of skill caps on champions as well as understanding matchups and where he's played. Tahm can also be played top, so his win % may include that role as well, I'm not sure what source you're using and if they make the distinction. Win rates are great to look at, but if you're not careful with interpretation, they can be easily lead to a bad conclusion.

he's been nerfed to death. Changes to his R's passive (now his passive passive) have made it very unintuitive and I believe he took a hit or two to his E's strength as well.

I don't understand his low win rate either. Been spamming him in practically every game for the past few weeks and I never seem to do terribly. I guess it would just be lack of ADC synergy.

He might be slightly overnerfed, people really hated him for a good while after he came out. Really oppressive top laner, really annoyed Assassins and burst mages, did way too much damage for a tank.

Honestly, Tahm is perfectly fine, the meta just doesn't suit him super well at the moment. If you know how to use him then you will do great. He's a juggernaut when taken top lane, so he is super vulnerable to ganks, and the strength of Junglers right now makes it hard for him to survive laning phase. He also has pretty conditional engage, and most tanks are expected to have the engage for the team, so if you don't have engage somewhere else on your team it can be pretty annoying. If he gets to late game with the gold of a solo laner, he is absolutely disgusting though.

Nothing like having 6000 health and autos that do 700 damage each
