There are ways to buff Azir without giving him soldier range back

They wanted to make Azir's upfront damage (Q) and range (W soldiers) reduced to force him to fight you more often with more abilities used from shorter ranges, why didn't they focus on this aspect of him?

Increase the slow duration massively on his Q so that he has more time to hit you, possibly having it scale with number of soldiers he hits you with (on live its currently only 1 second of slow) Increase his base Attack Speed (currently .6 +1.5% per level)

Riot doesn't need to backpedal on every change they make, they just need to do everything that needs to be done compensation wise instead of just nerfing something then going back on it later when it mysteriously didn't work

they could just make his leash range a bit larger so that he can auto with his soldiers from farther out. he lost about 100 max range when they reduced soldier range so buffing it by 100-150 wouldn't be absurd, considering he'd still have less area covered by the same number of soldiers.

I feel like that makes him safer and still in a way a backpedal.

The problem is that with the sustained damage style that they've pushed him into, Azir needs to be safer. Before the damage nerfs to Q he could get sufficient damage out of a single q + auto, now your Q+auto does a lot less damage and faster champs can escape before the auto comes out making it even less consistent.

If they want to push sustained damage he needs more safety. If they want to keep him less safe they need to push more towards burst damage.

Thats unneeded safety to let him go back to just killing you from afar.

Massively buffing his Attack Speed makes him actually capable of killing something before like level 11 which would be a massive buff to his "safety"

They simply need to buff the E to make him feel better when getting up close if you want to bring him to his full potential hes a feather through out the whole because people build only health on him besides once the new 120 ap item hits the field that q is gonna be a wave clear like no other meaning his mid game farm is going to be monstrous letting him snowball without ever getting a kill
