A lot of older immobile champs have no place in this new mobile meta
New and mobile champs are simple to fast for older champs such as rumble. I was playing against Kat last game, and as she blinked around me, my Q couldn't keep up. Rumble turned and turned, but the Q would not hit her as she danced around me in melee range. The reason this is upsetting is if I were an AD champ, he would be able to land his auto attacks, but Rumble Q can't keep up. And Its not like the damage from his Q will outpace the Attacks from a champ like Yi.
What's worst is that its dot, so its not doing much if I can't land it consistently. I also hate when my Q is on and I'm chasing a target through minions, and the direction of the Q is changed as I wiggle through minions. I dont know if this is intended counterplay, but it feels silly to me.
It's also his ult. I know it has a lot of potentials, but frankly, most times it barely does anything other than zoning. The damage is awful scaling at 35% ap per second while he has no hard CC. It would take 3-4 seconds to get the same amount of damage as a lux or Ex ult. It is also extremely situational, relying on cramped spaces or external CC to be effective.
If his ult was a circle instead of a rectangle, that would make it so much easy to cast instead of having to get the right direction with your mouse. it should also have an initial impact scaling, then do dot like Shyvanna E
I feel like if rumble was redesigned today, the mechanics of the Q would be better and more consistent, he would have some form of ghosted so minions don't cockk block him, and he would have a better cohesion with his ult.
I don't know how rumble mains feel about his current state, but IMO, he could use the same level of tuning up that Morgana did.
