It seems whenever assassins aren't meta is when the season is at it's unhealthiest.

People cried when assassins are best/worst
They cried when adc's were trash and ziggs was the bot lane champ to play, they complain when adc's are best.
They complain when mages rule everything, they complain when mages are just there for waveclear at best.
People complain when tanks are top tier, they complain when tanks are so bad that champs like jayce/gp/fiora control top lane.
People complain to complain.

You seem to not understand what the term "complaining" means as i never said i'm dissatisfied with people complaining. i enjoy the convos that get started from it and the changes that come.

ADCs weren't trash though. They were actually what they were supposed to be for once. Any ADC that got to late game did fine and could carry. The only issue was the whole first turret gold and people all going bot lane early, but ADCs came online when they were supposed to. It's not that everyone's complaining about the same thing when change takes place. There are different people who have different opinions. There are quite a lot of people who play league. Everyone is not one giant hivemind.

Lethality came after that, and at that point Jhin/MF were basically owning the game. The only time I remember ADCs being talked about being "bad" was when there were 4 man bot ganks because junglers got ahead faster than anyone, and the whole first turret gold thing first came about, making it really easy to snowball one side. ADCs weren't bad at that point, literally nothing changed about them. when they got ahead, or got to actual late game, they carried. Most games just didn't last that long and ADCs cried until Riot buffed their asses to where they could kill everyone at one and a half items, while also buffing supports, taking mid laner items and giving them to them, etc.

Are you talking about when lethality was first intoduced? or right before when ghostblade gave attackspeed and twitch/draven handled everyone with that as first item? Otherwise you mean the one week before lethality got nerfed and the whole varus/ash started? that last around 3 months maybe 2 tbh

I do remember at one point people started building black cleaver runaan's and some other items on Ashe, but I think it was before that that it started. It was when they FIRST increased jungle EXP and made the first blood tower changes that ADCs started becoming "bad" and the ADC 2k17 meme started. I don't remember Varus being a common pick around that time though.

It was around that time, but the meme became a meme because every adc "in terms of LCS" was terrible cept for ashe/varus becuase of hard cc ult that ziggs became the top adc played. i think it was right before, or right as syndra became god tier mid laner? with her tiple orb W true damage
Ashe was building cleaver bork during this, but ill have to go back and check more cause idr if this was right as FB tower changes were made
