Would Sona exist if she was purposed today?

Personal opinion, no would not exist if she was purposed today. Don't get me wrong i love her and think she has some very nice strengths. That said, her kit just doesn't make sense for what she is suppose to do. You have a character who is in the group with the lowest base movement speed, her health pool is tiny, she lacks hard CC and/or engage/disengage tool pre level 6, she has no gap closer, and the majority of her damage output is based around a 550 range auto attack. The only other support who has these kinds of issues is , but you are trading a lot of those tools for insanely high levels of sustain so it evens out at least a bit.

For those who think i'm over reacting i challenge you to think up a character with the above issues. Your champion has to be in the lowest base movement group, be in the bottom 5% of health pools (also not have insane levels of HP scaling per level), No hard CC, no engage/disengage tools before level 6, no gap closer (you can have a movement speed buff but it can't negate unit collision or terrain), and most of your power be it damage/healing/ or utility must be done at 550 range or less. Bonus points if you can make a champion that isn't a sustain monster OR does insane levels of damage quickly if they manage to get within that 550 range.

Would like to add that i think the "flaws" Sona has were fine WAY BACK when she could effect the battle from 900+ range away. no one wants a champion that can interact with a battle from way out of engage range, to also be really hard to catch and/or kill. But once they changed her to being a more active champion during fights, they really should have buffed her ability to take damage. I don't want the impossible to kill tank Sona who still does everything she does now, but it would be nice if i didn't go even or worse when i do a full "combo" VS. opponent landing a single non-critical auto attack.
