what i imagined karma's rework to be
First off just want to say I appreciate that riot has committed to giving her an update, however let it be known that im not impressed by it. I don't like the idea of being a mana/CDR battery (this will be gutted because of synergy with Lucian) nor do I like the fact that too much damage is still loaded onto her Q its pretty unhealthy for the game in general (just look back on zoe one shots). This may be unpopular among karma players but we need to admit that for our champion to get an identity she cannot be a jack of all trades capable of playing in every role bar the adc, far to many variables and far to difficult to balance. What I thought she should become was a toplane bully/duelist and a support.

was to get Mantra choices to matter
keep her viable in two or more lanes, I think midlane mage viability might be pushing it but she certainly can do it lulu style
give her some defining elements which I think I have done with her new W - spirit bond
Passive - Gathering Fire
Karma's abilities reduce the CD of mantra (R) by 2/3/4 seconds and basic attacks for half that amount 1/1.5/2
not much needs changed here was considering making it a two part passive
W - Spirit Bond
on ally cast Karma and an ally entwine spirits, damage caused to her linked ally is split between the ally and karma. karma takes 20/25/30/35/40% of the damage dealt to her ally, the link will be broken if karma and her ally travel to far from each other
Mantra bonus - Karma and her ally gain 10/12/15/18/20% damage mitigation for xseconds, karmas basic attacks for the duration heal for y amount of the damage dealt split between her and her linked ally
the bond breaks when karma falls below 50/45/40/35/30% of maximum health and goes on CD for 15seconds
on enemy cast - karma exerts her will over the enemy target, 25% of the damage dealt by this target is reflected back at target as magical damage
mantra bonus - Karmas basic attacks against the target are converted to magical damage and heal for x% of the damage done
Q - Heavenly wave
Karma fires a burst of spiritual energy in a cone infront of her dealing magical damage, the cone is not blocked by minions, monsters or champions
mantra bonus when linked - heals karma and linked ally for x amount per enemy champion hit and slows enemy champions
unlinked - extends the range, slows enemy champions and heals karma for a % of her missing health
E - Soul shield/inspire
Karma conjures a soul shield which absorbs damage
manta bonus while linked to a ranged ally - deals damage and knocks enemy champions a short distance away from her ally
mantra bonus while linked to a melee ally - deals bonus damage and slows enemy champions
mantra bonus while unlinked - shield strength is increased and the target gains movement speed
R - Mantra
karma empowers her next basic ability within 8 seconds
