Can We Please Make Yasuo Base Stats Not So Shit?

boss10000··2 votes·2,388 views

I honestly don't get why Yasuo base stats are so bad, and i will now go into looking at his stats and comparing him to his nearest match for another champion which is Riven although you can compare him to any other champion within the game and see how bad his stats are, but for this I have chosen Riven.

His Stats HEALTH 518 – 1912 ATTACK DAMAGE 55 – 110 ARMOR 24.7 – 82.5 MAGIC RES. 30.0

For reference similar champion to Yasuo Riven has theses base stats, again only for comparison sakes as they are similar themed champions and in plays style and kit builds

Riven Stats HEALTH 558 – 2020 ATTACK DAMAGE 56 – 107 ARMOR 24.4 – 78.8 MAGIC RES. 32.1 – 53.4

So lets compare so key points

Health Starting -40 - Ending -108

So hes weaker weaker and weaker early game and these no difference between the two both have shields and honestly RIven's shield is better in every way compared to Yasuo's, its stronger, it lasts longer, it up far more often, it scales so there's no reason why Yasuo should have worse health than RIven.

Attack Damage Starting -1 - Ending +3

Starts slightly lower but scales to be higher than Riven by level 18, however when both compared to someone like lee sin (61 – 116) there both far behind in the base damaeg department.

Armour Starting +0.3 - Ending +3.7

Similar armour amounts to each other again quiet fair, except when you look at the armour per champion chart (linked below) you can see that these champions have such bad armour scaling that some ranged champions have better armour stats than them, bot could use with having amrour go to 85-86 something in that area.

Magic Resist Starting -2.1 - Ending -23.4

Ahh this gem, why is it that Yasuo has no god dam Magic resist scaling? better yet why does his bas MR start lower than someone with scaling aswell, is there any reason for him not to have scaling MR and actual better base MR? especially considering he meant to be played in the mid lane vs mages, this is stupid, give him some MR per level please.

Other Stats

I didn't look at Health Regen, Attack Speed, Melee Range Or MS, cause I didn't consider them super relevant to the conversation but if you want to look at them feel free with the links below.

Side Note

I did this comparison with Riven as she is the most similar champion to Yasuo in kit, style and abilities but feel free to compare Yasuo base stats to anyone else in the game that is similar, Lee Sin, Zed, Rengar, Tryndamere, Shyvanna, Rek'Sai, Reneketon all of these are manaless and all of these haven't been gimped nearly as much as Yasuo has.

Conclusion

Look at the main base stat's I highlighted above Yasuo could honestly use with the following buffs

  1. Magic Resist base stat increase, and give him scaling MR. Make him the same as every other melee champion, there no reason for this to not be a thing, there was no reason for him not to have it to start with.

  2. Increase His Base AD by 3 This would bring him in line with other melee champions and considering the fact that he only really gets any sort of ranged attack after landing 3 Q's that is massively telegraphed to the enemy, he needs the extra damage for when he finally does go in and fights people.

  3. Increase Base Health to 512 Basically undo patch 4.18 cause Riot nerfed his health saying cause of his shield he was to strong then nerf his shield.

  4. Increase his finally Armour by 3 This would take his finally armour amount to be similar to other champions within the melee fighter field and give him a little help late game.

Final Thoughts

Honestly these small changes to his base stat's would just allow Yasuo to actually be played properly in the lanning phase considering how he has no real escape (besides masisve outplay or lucky minions) he need something to stop him being bullied in the lane or the more common option camped to hell by the jungler.

We never see Yasuo played in pro play any more, because he is so weak and easy to counter, all the stuff people complained about, like his shield pros just learned how to beat (1 aa then wait 1 sec) or his Wind Wall (bait it out then its down for 26 secs) and honestly he was a champion that was nerfed for being good in lower elo's where people played against him wrong, if you look at his stats (linked below) he has one of the worst win ratios in high elo, because he's so easy to beat and counter play, every lane he has a has a losing Win Ratio. (except ADC cause supports OP? or maybe just the cheese)

Honestly speaking this is a champion that should thrive in competitive with full knock-up team comps that let him ult or wombo combos that destroy the other team, etc, etc but do we ever see anything like that? no, the only time he was played recently was to counter Gnar and that didn't last long cause how often do we see that now? He shouldn't be picked 24/7 I get that but we never really see him and it would be nice to see him like once or twice a week with some sort of full engage comp or something that would be cool to see.

Replies

Please when replying try to structure valid arguments instead of "Yasuo OP why buff him", " WindWall Broken", or my favourite "He's not weak your just bad".

I like to read actual point and construct a counter-point or argue against what someone is posting so please can we have intellectual posts.

Lol. His stats are horrendous because he was given about a million different ways to avoid taking damage. His shield negates poke and his Windwall invalidates projectiles, making him difficult for mages to poke regularly and extremely difficult to all-in if they are projectile-based. That is why he has no scaling MR - he would be impossible for mages to do anything to if he had it.

He has no AD because 100% crit and he has shit health/armour because of a free, resetting shield.

If you want him to have good base stats then you are clearly just not able to use his kit properly. If you feel squishy on Yasuo you are playing him wrong.

Can we please stop with this whole shield argument, it is without a doubt the worse shield in the game and as i point out:

"So he's weaker weaker and weaker early game and these no difference between the two both have shields and honestly RIven's shield is better in every way compared to Yasuo's, its stronger, it lasts longer, it up far more often, it scales so there's no reason why Yasuo should have worse health than RIven."

His shield works by: "RESOLVE: Yasuo generates 1% of his maximum Flow for every 59 / 52 / 46 units he travels by any means, requiring a total of 5900 / 5200 / 4600"

To point out the map in itself from coroner to corner is 19000, so for Yasuo shield to come back up he has to walk over 1/4 of the whole map each time he wants it back up, so yes totally a free sheild.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Summoner's_Rift

And then it take 1 damage tick to take the shield away, so 1 aa and wait 1 sec, so if you honestly thinks that broken then i don't know what to say.

Meanwhile Riven shield is on COOLDOWN: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 and you choice when to use it and it last 50% longer, then it scales off her AD, so please explain how Yasuo's shield is so broken?

WindWall

So Wind Wall has COOLDOWN: 26 / 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 ans is maxed last, so it has basically 26 sec cooldown for most the game, and lasts for 3.75 secs, so leaving you 22 secs where he has no Wind Wall if you can't poke down or do your damaeg to a champion within a 22 second window of time, what more time do you want 30 secs, 1 min?

100% Crit

So he get 2X crit from items BUT: "INTENT: Yasuo's critical strike chance is doubled, but his Critical strike icon critical strikes deal 90% damage, reduced to 75% damage on Steel Tempest.png Steel Tempest."

And he require items so for most of the lanning phase, what first 10 mins of the game he has no crit chance until he backs, at which point he buys crit, lets say a zeal, which gives him 20% crit, double to 40% or for the same price he can get a BF sword for the same price and get 40 AD which due to the damaeg reduction gives him the same or more damaeg and instead of being 40% of the time it is 100% of the time, so yes he can get 100% crit but by time he does its 15-20 mins in and the due to the reductions its not as affective as people make it out to be.

So he Looks like his stuff is strong but when you break it down and actually look no, its not strong at all it just takes some thinking about and strategy to beat it.

Unless you buy a brawler's glove or have %crit reds, which equals .939+102=36.74% 36.74>tryndamere passive max percent, and you LITERALLY bought one item! And using ONLY MARKS putting in glyphs, quints, and seals... (((.93+.28+.42)*9)+((1.86)*3)+(10))*2= ((1.63)*9+(1.86)*3+(10))*2 (14.47+5.58+10)2 30.052=60.1 Now then, let's say yas is fighting a thresh at level 1 for whatever reason!(also,he legit needs 10% more crit for 100% after zeal/IE/triforce/essence reaver(pick and choose!), which is another fucking brawler's glove, and is(using zeal math here) 1700 gold; or second back if doing well)

55.3761+((60.1)(1+(-.1))=85.334*(16/(16*100))=84.48066 damage Get math'd bitch

I honestly read his post and only have one thing to say.

I feel bad for you that you are this dumb

boss100001 votes

Great argument you raise many good points explaining you reasoning and why, no just making a statement with no backing of any sort must be completely true right?

Not like i didn't like facts, stats did comparisons and many other points and your argument against me is:

"I feel bad for you that you are this dumb"

He's a hypercarry. He's not supposed to have great base stats and is meant to be item dependent.

His passive & His windwall allow him to be powerful when well played vs mages, so not giving him MR so he didn't have an even bigger edge on them makes sense.

boss100001 votes

Except as i listed below if your vs anyone who knows anything about Yasuo the shield and WW are no factors as I replyed to below there down for so good dam long if you can't do anything in the time then your playing the match up wrong.

Phoenix Kotori 1 votes

The shield is easily negated in some match ups.

But windwall is allowed to be so powerful because they took power off his base stats.

boss100001 votes

If he uses windwall you have 22 seconds to then attack him while its down, i can't think of any game who would have there ability down for 22 secs and couldn't use it again before his WW came back up.

And if he walks away till its back, guess what you just zonned him from farm and are free farming for yourself.

Phoenix Kotori 1 votes

Syndra Varus Ezreal Talon ult can be blocked longer CD than WW and blocking means he can zone them.

boss100001 votes

Is Wind Wall up? Yes, don't use ult, so either you hit him with the rest of your poke and he tries to save windwall for the ults or he uses wind wall to block some of the poke and guess what you then ult him.

As i said yes it can be annoying when he windwalls your ult, but its the same thing as going on someone with zhonya's, stealth, untargatability, you need to plan ahead instead of just jumping in expecting to kill him.

Akenero1 votes

Then you never use ult!

Yasuo is so over powered at the last patch and your asking for a buff? mate LOL Look at Lolking.net [zombie-nunu-tears]

boss100002 votes

Did you not read my post?

Huh, fine

Lolking shows hes at 48.1% which is actually low for a champion and, if you read or looked at the link i provide such as: http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/yasuo/diamond

You can see that his win ratio is being buffed up by people stomping in lower Elo's where people play against him wrongly,

And please explain how he is: Quote "is so over powered at the last patch"

FooI1 votes

If you played yasuo long enough you would do just perfect

Pretty much life steal makes it so easy for yasuo to farm

and in mid-late game even if his not fed his damage is pretty much large and impact a lot in late

Unless you don't know how to play yas

I've seen even some yas beating brand in lanes lol

Akenero1 votes

Yasuo's kit is overloaded, hence low stats However, place him in a scenario where he has his abilities, not only stats. If you look at champions like orianna, thresh, GNAR, hell, look at freaking trynd, who's basically yas but hits harder, moves less. All(except trynd) have overloaded kits, high counterplay. Orianna:low ranges, high mana costs, and horrible base stats Thresh, slow engage tool, lowest armor in the game, and is support. Gnar has shitty stats entirely until later levels and during mega, and has low base damages Trynd is destroyed by tanks and cc

Yas has NONE of this, AND shreds tanks

boss100001 votes

Ok so lets look.

Orianna: Low ranges, high mana costs, and horrible base stats

Range Yasuo has low range, lower than Orianna, she can atleast farm with he AA, Yasuo has to go up to the minions to kill them or get a slight ranged Q, and before you mention 3rd Q, how do you get 3rd Q? by landing Q 1 and Q 2 where do you need to be, to land them? in close range.

Mana Costs Ill's give you mana costs, but as i said its cause she's so safe, every time a Yasuo goes into farm he is taking a risk, and Orianna sitting back and killing a wave is not.

Base Stats her AD doesn't count here cause of her passive giving her extra damage on AA, so if you ignore that she has the Same MR, Less Armour More Range Less end game health

so honestly there pretty even in base stats, but again Yasuo is Melee so no safety when going in.

Thresh: slow engage tool, lowest armor in the game, and is support.

Slow Engage Tool His Q has a projectile speed of Projectile Speed: 1900, that is only 100 less than Ezreal Q, so no it's not slow its actually really fast, especially compared to ones that are slow, like Anivia Q at 850

Lowest Armour Yes which scales infinitely so when anyone else is capped at there top, thresh can still keep scaling his armour all game long, at as long as he gains souls as a good rate his is = or better than most armour scaling base on champions.

Support Role has nothing to do with this.

I can do Gnar and Tryn if you like butIi think you get the point.

Akenero1 votes

Orianna:she's got auto range, but also she only functions via the ball, which has short ranged aoe effects You ALSO must look at move speed

Thresh q has a major windup time, which is what i meant by slow, my bad! Support role=less gold, so he cant get items efficiently, nor level up as fast, and souls are very underwhelming in power level compared to armor per level (unless you're stupidly fucking lucky)

And gnar is my biggest point in the matter, and i think you'll be surprised at how weak gnar actually is in both forms!

Can we agree on one thing though? Fuck yasuo's reliability XD Either be countered, counter, or fight a mirror match

His base stats have always been terrible. Partly because he has a multitude of ways to avoid taking damage and partly because his noticeably weak early game is very core to his balance.
