It's honestly a trade-off. Riot sometimes has to make substantial changes to a champion to make them viable, but doing so might alienate their old playerbase (however small that old playerbase might have been). I personally think that the Galio rework was probably Riot's best one yet. I didn't play a single game on old Galio because he seemed boring but new Galio is super fun. I'm sure Urgot will be better for it as well when his rework eventually comes out.

Don't be such a drama queen. Older champions get reworked because they're pretty much on their deathbed anyway with their antiquated kits and horrible models. The VGUs actually give them life and visibility, so people can say "Hey, I main Galio!" and the response won't be "Who?" ever again.

I guess we are getting close enough to the rework where suddenly all his "mains" (all three of them) are coming out of the woodwork and will be vocally spamming the boards about how Riot ruined Urgot and how the old one was perfect and beloved by all.

Be thankful it's only one. I main Maokai and I've had to live through 2 reworks. I never thought after a Victorious skin they'd rework a guy so soon. All my dreams are dead.

I highly doubt the changes we saw a while ago are the ones that will actually happen. I don't think even Riot is capable of such abominable design.
