Warwick IS a human champ. He's just heavily modified by experimentation.

In the PROJECT universe, he's totally human, just with a wolf-like suit. This is still really exciting, since it opens up PROJECT to champs like Alistar Azir Cassiopeia Elise HecarimRenektonRengar Jax Khazix Mordekaiser Nasus Udyr Twitch Urgot

i.e., champs who were not quite human enough, but could realistically be a human in a mecha suit

It doesn't apply to every champion you listed here.

They went with Warwick, exactly because he has been a human before in the lore. He works with Project, since he is a human who was altered with science, making him something different.

From the champions you mentioned, these are still ruled out: Alistar Rengar Jax Khazix Twitch These champions never have been humans in the lore and therefore this special exception does not work for them.

The champions you mentioned, which would become possible: Azir Cassiopeia Elise Hecarim Renekton Mordekaiser Nasus Udyr Urgot Since these used to be human, until something altered them.

However, just because some of these would technically be possible, I wouldn't consider them likely to happen. A Rioter stated that there is still the general rule in place that Project is supposed to be for "human champions with significant weapons". Warwick is supposed to be the exception here, not a new trend. And adding more and more champions with Warwicks unique design element in Project would take away from it being an exception of the rule.

I dunno about Rengar / Kha zix, they've got mecha skins, which yes aren't related but do have that same robotics tone. Especially if you compare WW to Rengar the skins have similarities. Plus both were never human either.

Don't get too excited about it. A Rioter stated that the rule "human champions with significant weapons" is still in place for Project. He said that there is a lore explanation why Warwick still made it in the line up.

My guess is that lore-wise, he will be a fusion of Project and Program. A human Project, who had to use body parts of a wolf-like Program to repair himself. This gives him an unique place in the Project skin line. But the rule is still in effect, which means that Warwick will be the exception here.

I mean we could see some other similar types like Hecarim Elise Kled Sejuani where humans are partnered with machines or fused with them

  1. Yordles are still completely out of question. It works for Warwick, because in the lore he actually was a normal human before Singed experimented on him. The rule "exclusively human" is still in place, Yordles never have been human in the first place, they are still a hard no. No Project Kled.

  2. Yes, this opens up the possibility for Hecarim and Elise, since they also used to be normal humans before some kind of transformation. But just because it is possible, I wouldn't consider it likely. Warwick now has the shtick that he is a Project taking machine parts to repair himself. I highly doubt that they will do this again. It is an unique design for him that makes him stick out, giving us a whole series with inhuman Projects with the same explanation would be kinda lame.

  3. Sejuani is still completely human herself and yes, bristle could be replaced by a machine. From these you posted here, I would consider Sejuani the most likely candidate for another set of Projects. But I would still consider Kled a hard no, while Hecarim and Elise are possible, but unlikely, because they would take the same design space like Warwick.

WW is still essentially a human, he's a werewolf type character; he stands on 2 feet afterall. He was a man at one point. So, yeah it still works.

Yes, the point that Warwick used to be a human is actually the reason why he made it into the skin line. He is a special case here, but that does not mean that non-human champions in Project will become a trend now.

Sukishoo1 votes

Well I don't think we'll see fully non-humnoid champs like Aniva for example. Though we could see other half human / animal types.

I hope they won't add many more of this kind, tbh. It is kinda awesome that Warwick is the exception of the rule here, because of his unique lore background. Making this a trend would take away his awesomeness as a unique design here, imo.

Yea it is something more unique but you never know, Riot likes to change things up that are said to be "unique" all the time. Like how pulsefire was a unique theme for the Ez ultimate at one time but now there's a full skinline. Not saying anything will happen or even should happen, but its just a possibility .

I’d rather not. At the very least I’d like them to hit more undead first.

To be fair though, riot has been breaking rules of skin lines lately...look at the battle boss skins

Chembaron Yamada1 votes

Fair enough, but the Rioter explicitly stated that the rule "just humans with significant weapons" is still in place here. It could change in the future, but this statement makes it sound to me like there is currently no intention to keep breaking with this.

still glad someone who isn't just another human got it

true, but still...the human design of champs gets exceptionally boring

Well I'm pretty excited to see WW get a skin too! But 2 things that annoy me (which I might start liking whenever i get the skin and start playing with it) is 1)The color, could you some more deep colors but ok and 2)the face, idk why [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]
