Now don't get me wrong, I really want Garen to be buffed. A lot really. But...
After checking RiotGypsy's tweet, isn't his passive on late levels a bit... hum... broken? Also, it doesn't fix the problems he has.
***Current Passive: 9 sec CD for .4% health/sec Buffed Passive: 9/6/4 sec CD for .4/.8/2% health/sec @ lvl 1/11/16 (numbers subject to change)
Mundo is already a terror to kill on late game, and I understand why they buffed Garen this way, since his laning is solid but lacks utility to the team. But I still believe 2% hp/sec on a full item Garen is a bit too much. That's an insane heal. If he has 5000hp on late game means 100hp heal every second.
I would be happier if they tweaked the ulti to true/physical damage. Or having is E slowing enemies. Or having E cast increased by 1 second per enemy champion hit. That would be a great addition because it would encourage Garen to be in middle of the fight even more to add the cast time, tanking damage and slowing enemies.
But hey, please don't hate my post, this is just pure discussion, I would appreciate opinions, at least on the buffed passive.
TL;DR: I just believe that Garen needs some fresh stuff in terms of playstyle, instead being (insanely) more tanky. His combo is always the same, and without changing is combo you could definitely add him more CC at least, like a slow or E increased cast per champion hit. His playstyle remains the same and he would still remain relatively easy to play by new players. If only the passive is buffed this way, the problems he has won't be fixed and this insane heal will be a bit toxic in terms of denying splitpushing imo.
1 mention, I've just said these ideas because imo, he needs more utility. Just a point a view, not a thing that I want, it's a thing I believe it may help him. And I will repeat, may. I don't even play Garen that much because after some time he gets boring to me.
***I'm just giving ideas and my sincere opinion, as well I believe I'm explaining well on why I believe that, by no means I want to say Riot isn't on the right path. Actually, we only can read numbers, not testing them.
