I've been from S4 to S2 ten times this year.

Ok sure but why··1 votes·1,021 views

Literally, there's something messed up with Riot's matchmaking at this point. Every time I get to S2, the magic Shitter Fairy comes into my room at night and takes the LP right under my pillow, leaving me with nothing but sheer rage at the teammates it gave me. And every time I fall to S4, the MMR gods show mercy upon my soul and bless me with people that can actually put their pants on all by themselves! The cycle won't stop.

Riot has this dumb algorithm to ensure that "both teams have a 50% chance at winning," and it's just so, so... wrong. If you're a good player, Riot is gonna put a bunch of bad players on your team and good players on theirs to "even it out." So they're gonna make you lose, game, after game, after game. And once you start losing enough games, you'll be considered the "bad player" by their discretion. So then they'll start pairing you up with actual human beings again, which'll make you win, game, after game, after game.

Damnit, man. I was ALMOST at S1 this time, and then BOOM!!!!!! From a "first-time Evelynn," to all the trolling Pyke junglers that have no idea how to play, to my afk "tank" supports that literally sit behind me and force me to take harass in a 1v2. I get to S3 0LP, and I tell myself, "Okay, I'm just gonna play it extra safe with Janna. I can at least keep my ADC alive."

I wanna escape this dumb, shit elo, but holy fucking shit. I'm just not allowed to.

Dude there are diamond players who are saying they can't escape silver on their smurfs, it;s what happens when riot put all the new players in games with smurfs and people of a huge variety of skill levels. I've played with silver players that are better then plat players I've played with (over multiple games ofc). Hell there was a monkey on the boards yesterday with a less than 1.5 kda, 5.5 cs per game, and a 50% winrate mocking silver players because he's using Yorick to do it. He actually thought having a 53% winrate on Yorick was GOOD, and failed to realize that being plat last season made getting back to plat this season (if he wasn't placed there already) much easier then getting to gold from silver.

Until riot stop putting 54% of the total ranked players in one group and saying "you're all the same right?" climbing out of silver will be beyond your control most games. It's up to you if it's worth your time. Personally i play ranked about 3 times a month when I only have a single or no friends online, and the rest of the time play normals with my friends or 5v5 customs :) I find this far more enjoyable then trying to gain a rank that means very little in the current state of ranked. Maybe later in the season when riot have fixed their mistakes I'll spam some solo games to get a boarder, but other then that it's not worth the time atm

then get good and do so

I try to "get good", but then RitO slides that 0/10 Illaoi top lane into my game. Only so "good" I can get before 8/0/1 Fiora comes to town, two levels higher than anyone else in the game..

You gonna act like you have never been that 0/XX/0 player that made your team lose?

Oh I've most certainly had bad games. But I've never sat and danced in the Baron Pit letting someone kill me repeatedly.

Here is the thing, no one WANTS the feeder, no one WANTS to lose because of someone else doing poorly, no one WANTS to lose because of the player doing badly hence why it feels like Riot is doing it on purpose. What a lot of people need to realize is that 99% of the people aren't doing it on purpose. Int feeders in this game are rare (as much as people make it seem you get one a game.) People who intentionally try to go out of their way to feed are very few and far between, what IS common however is that player that just shits the bed. Humans aren't consistent in anything, so one game they do well, the next, they cost the game. It is just because this is a team game where you get random players every game, you are just as likely to get the players who are doing the shitting which in turn makes you feel like Riot is targetting you.

How many 0-3 laners do you see go in for a sketch fight and lose HARD 1v1. That is also feeding because you know when you are 3 kills, 2 levels, and 40 CS behind you ARE NOT GOING TO WIN.

But we have all done stupid shit like that, where we tilted, but kept thinking we could only for it to snowball worst.

Ok sure but why2 votes

Yeah, but there's a context. Some people go 0/10 by getting tower dove. Others go 0/10 by tower diving and failing. There is a distinct difference between the former and the latter, and very different people of different skill levels fall into each category respectively.

HaIlMonitor2 votes

That is honestly the best thing I have ever read about this game. I dont care if someone goes 0-5 in lane because they got dove 5 times, but when they get firstblooded, tp back and die again, then walk back in over extend and get killed again I have zero patience with them.

Ok sure but why1 votes

The worst part is, OP.GG can't tell the difference with sheer numbers and statistics alone. So there will always be some smug kid ready to say "You complain about those tower-diving inters, but I see by OP.GG you had to face a fed Tryndamere top that is well within his rights to tower dive you for a whole 5 seconds. Therefore, you're JUST AS BAD!!!!"

Or MAYBE S4-S2 is where you belong. You literally have a thousand ranked games this year. Thats much more time needed to sort out your true MMR

OnlyGragasOnlyGG1 votes

This. I am sure a lot of people overrate their own skills and think they deserve a better rank while the truth is they suck at the game precisely as much/often as those who get blamed...

Being stuck in a certain rank for 1000 games is solid proof OP is a casual player crying for no reason. Think about this: If you self were more skillfull and would be able to win lanes most of the time, it wouldn't matter that much if theres a 50% chance of having a "monkey" on your team. By beating your lane consistently, you should automatically get more victories regardless of the 50/50 matchmaking.

Players need to stop believing their doings have no impact for match outcomes. Ranked is not lottery. Do you think people hit diamond or challenger by luck?

Ok sure but why1 votes

I literally got to G2 last year before the new-years placements shit me down to this horrid ELO. I've known firsthand how much better the Gold ELO is than Silver. In Gold, the actions you take actually matter. If you're playing decently enough to climb, your actions don't matter down here.

Jamaree1 votes

You know, even with perfect matchmaking, things like that would still happen.

Ok sure but why1 votes

If you mean "perfectly random," then yeah. But I'd most definitely prefer the occasional dumb luck over malicious intent.

That is still one game's worth of failing though, with the next, they are Faker, who is to say their skill isn't up to par, but they are just tilting that match?

People tilt, get pissed, get angry, then the ribbing comes in which makes the tilting even harder.
