A reminder for Illaoi and Darius players, you need to build more than 1 damage item.

"But Darius gets 200 bonus AD!" That is nice and all but adding that to his ult gives his ult 900 damage, add 55 from cleaver, 10 from runes, and his ult will almost reach 1000 or be slightly higher than 1000.

Illaoi makes me cry seeing people buy no damage until their third or fourth item. Yea she needs survivability as she cant hit anybody or heal if she dies from 10 years of cc but when your tentacles are barely doing more than 300 damage mid game, there is an issue.

"But 300 per tentacle is a lot!!!"

If the enemy adc only had 1500 health, 0 armor, and melee forms Illaoi, it would take 5 individual tentacle slaps to kill her. Now try fighting semi tanky dudes with that much damage, it won't cut it.

Illaoi is more special in needing more than 1 AD item built because unlike Darius, only her autos and W are reliable sources of damage. Darius also has ways of ignoring defenses unlike Illaoi.

Depends on the enemy team comp. Do they have an Talon and a Mao/Malph? Run full tank. Do They have a Gragas with a Sivir and Ahri mid and you're vs a non tank? Go Offensive Bruiser. Their is not a single build path you can go everygame and get the best out of it since other items will shine best over others depending on the enemy team comp. Also full tank Darius is perfectly viable if your team has no tank.

Darius Q, W, and R with just Black Cleaver (excluding hybrid damage and defense items like Sterak's and such) and 5 stacks of blood deals 160 (+280% AD) physical damage plus 600 (+150% bonus AD) true damage. With just Black Cleaver, at Level 16, this deals 2084.15 damage (before armor although some of this is true damage) plus an additional 488.75 physical damage from the bleed (before armor). This excludes any hybrid items like Sterak's as said and any AD gained from runes, masteries, and other sources besides Darius' base kit.

Simply put, one pure damage item is likely enough for Darius and, if it is enough for Darius, high chances are that is works for Illaoi since her ultimate will most of the time spawn 3 tentacles average.

a reminder that it doesn't matter whether you build 1 damage item or 6 on Illaoi she still needs some major changes since all she is good for right now is for being frustrating to play against. She isn't strong and barely does anything unless she gets ahead. She needs changes and not dumb threads telling people to build more damage items on her

You better don't play with Darius untill next patch. He's getting outclassed literally by everyone current meta. Maokai-Malphite are way better with SunfireCape-fulltank build and you can't just rush super expensive BC against them. He's pretty much trash against Irelia or jax since his core item is also expensive compared to their Guinsoo Rageblade. In my opinion Darius is trash tier champion in higher elo. I know it from my expirience.
