I’m so tired of “it’s your fault you’re in low elo”... Maybe give advice instead of having an ego?

Players can and have bad games, hell, I just went 0/7 on Cait cause’ the enemy lane I was against simply did better than me... but that doesn’t define me as a completely poor player.

Often times, I’ll compare my stats on champions I play to other ranks (gold, plat, etc.) and I notice how several champs I play statistically reach higher elos. (Vision/KDA/CC Score/Gold, etc.)

I hear “it’s your fault you are in your elo” to much and quite frankly I find this wrong. I’ll take ownership for where I screw up but to state “it’s your fault” every game I lose is quite honestly insulting. I can’t control someone diamond, smurfing for a player/duo... I can’t control someone afking/rage quitting/client fails... and I certainly can’t control someone intentionally feeding and/or assisting the enemy team. I wish there was someway to see the percentage of how frequent these things occur so that I can show these “high elo” players with big heads that it’s not just cause’ they are “better”, but respectively cause’ they are lucky.

Now my questions are, how do I make my gameplay better beyond “being positive” in a game? How do I take a hold on games with allies who are doing everything they can to lose me the game? How can I turn unbalanced scores (3 Vs 27 for example) into balanced scores? Who do I play that is ultimately going to be able to carry me beyond the point of my allies gameplay or trolling?

FIrst of all, mute all. Dont matter if your being positive, believe it or not people can get offend to that. its best to mute all and play your best. You are absolutely right that things that you said you dont have control over. So the best thing is to focus on your self and do your best to improve.

Thing about imrpoving is that you need to understand where your weakness lies. Identify where your weakness are and look up guides to improve on that. Be humble in this aspect and put aside your pride. Learning will only make you a better player but you need to make sure you are applying what you learn. So keep a mental conscious when you go into the game with what are the things your working on. So that you make a conscious effort to work on those and not fall back to being auto pilot.

I go over basics alot of times and its okay to watch videos about the basics so you can go over it every now and than. It really do help, by having a solid fundamental basic to build your skills upon makes things easier as you advance through mechanics, macro and decision making.

Also, it is your fault for being in low elo xD So get your butt out of there by improving. Your suspose to climb with even all the things that are being thrown at you that you have mention above.. Rise above these obstacles and climb. Other people do it, so can you.

If I had a dollar everytime I seen someone below plat have attitudes like this when receiving tips I would be rich. And my friend wonders why I don't bother teaching him how to improve unlike the poor guy in the screenshot wasting his time with this nonsense.

I hear “it’s your fault you are in your elo” to much and quite frankly I find this wrong.

Alright then who's fault is it? There is only ONE variable that is consistent in every single game played and that variable is you.

You can make all the excuses you want for the few games you lose cause of those reasons (RQ/Smurf/whatever), that doesn't change the fact that you're not doing enough to win the games that are fair (because there is no way 171 loses is entirely on things out of your control).

As for the inting excuse you realize it's low elo right? Literally the majority of deaths some player makes in that elo will be considered "int" if it's high plat+ because these players are held to different standards than low elo players. Unless those players in your games are literally running it down mid, they are not inting, they just don't know any better.

My headlines refers to the ones who literally state things like “get good” or “you’re stuck cause’ you suck”... that’s legit so demeaning to someone who works so hard for where they even are now. It’s like painting my first picture, going into an art museum and being told to never paint again... when ultimately I could’ve been told what better to do!

I also do take ownership where I do bad, I’m not saying that it isn’t all my fault. But as previously mentioned in a post above, that 40/40/20 odds TrashBanSystem mentioned, seems rather accurate.

Realistically though, what sort of sage wisdom or hidden techniques are you looking for? A hidden button that makes your character faster or something? A masterful strategy that is kept away from everyone gold and below? There are tons of resources you can find to get better, but realistically, you just need to think about it. What is the best way to ensure you can win the majority of your games? By mitigating damage of course. Ideally you'd like to win your match up, but that isn't going to be consistent. What you can learn to do consistently though, is playing better from behind. The whole "die less" spiel that probably makes you angry to read isn't a joke. It is solid advice. If you can learn how to play better on the back foot, and to alter your view not just to win, but to win through the strongest asset on your team even if it isn't you, then I can 100% promise that you will win more games. As far as game knowledge goes, look for guides. Perfect a champion. Learn warding placements and timings for your role. Practice more wave management/farming/jungle routes. There's a lot of menial learning that anyone can do to improve themselves.

But you knew all of this already, didn't you? You know what you have to do to get better, and it's more likely that you wanted an easier answer or otherwise didn't want to do the work. Feel free not to listen to my word though. I am Silver I after all. If anyone of a higher rank would like to correct me, I'm all for it.

Sometimes the only advice to give is "please god stop inting" Lol look at my last game on this account, only 1 of my teammates had fewer deaths than kills+assists.

I've seen it said this way on the forums: 40 of games you will likely lose with very little chance of winning, 40% you will likely win with very little chance of losing, and ~20% are more even and your play/contribution decides the game. Going by this consistency and good mental is the most important.

That said this season it feels more lopsided towards the stomps, later in the season I've been having a somewhat higher % of closer games but especially mid season it felt like more of a 45 45 10, in terms of 90% stomps and only 10% close games.

Basically you just have to grind it out and play consistently and you should climb.

The most effective way for us to help you is for you to post some videos of you playing. Replays are helpful, but not ideal. I am about to watch your 5/4/5 loss as Garen. I will edit this post or make a new one when I am done with some notes.

I know you’re gonna do Garen but note I only started using him in Ranked cause’ he’s unbalanced atm and I think of the 6 games I’ve played on him, I won 4... anyways... if you see any in there for Ashe, Lux, Neeko, Nami or Morgana, please critique those! They are, for the most part, what I play most of the time

Forgot to mention Client Fail Rate Probability... the amount of client issues that have risen has forced me out of games or others, or not even loaded me games from Champ select. /:

I'm stuck in Gold because I never think to myself "Hm, maybe this guy is staying with 1 hp because his jungler is nearby." and instead I think to myself "Hm, this guy is a moron lol, I'm going to kill him now."

Spoiler: His jungler was nearby.

That seems to be a huge issue for top Laners I get. Idk what it is about that lane, maybe there’s just to many blind spots or whatever, but people get baited ALOT in top lane 0.o

Well, everything I had really doesn’t apply to supports, but it’s OK. I’ll watch the 2/5/12 loss.

  • I can already tell that Kog’Maw is going to play very poorly. I suspect a lot of the bad things that happen will be more his fault than yours. I suspect there will be things you do that should have been fine but were bad because others (specifically Kog) were playing bad first.
  • As you know, you guys stayed way too long. I could tell you wanted to back off but Fizz and Kog kept being stupid. While that wasn't your fault, sometimes you have to make the right play even if it’s abandoning your teammates. Just ping them to back off and go back yourself.
  • Unless your RAD is explicitly trying to push the wave, don’t touch the minions. Even if you don’t steal any or cause him to miss any, it’s still detrimental. It’s not what caused the problems this game, but it’s something to keep in mind.
  • You misused all three of your abilities within a span of 10 seconds. You threw out E on nothing. I assuming you thought Cho was going to Q, but that’s something you have to react to. Other than reacting to Q, you need to save E for Yasuo’s third Q. You tried to bind the full health Cho who was in the opposite bush instead of trying to hit the hit the Yasuo who was under 50% health. After it missed, you threw down W for no reason at all. With your E down, Yasuo got the easiest launch of his life, which guaranteed the Rupture and guaranteed Kog’s death.

And with that, Kog left. I see he comes back, but it’s already lost.

The only other loss on a support I can watch is the 0/6/1 stomp. I’ll watch some of it, but things clearly go very wrong very quickly so there won’t be a lot.

  • This is a tough one. I assume you ate the hook intentionally to protect Ashe. I suppose that’s the right choice, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that the hook was not going to hit her. It’s easy for me to say since I have the advantage of looking at a replay rather than playing in the moment, but being able to determine things like that as they happen is important.
  • I do not know the matchup of Ashe/Nami vs Blitz/Yasuo, so I can speak only to my analysis based on what I know about the champions. I suspect it’s a very bad matchup for Ashe/Nami, especially both pre-6 and when Ashe has LT. I wouldn’t be trying to Q aggressively. If you want to be aggressive, I would stay behind your minions and get the triple hit on your W. Then if Yasuo decides to dive in or if Blitz charges in, you can Q.
  • I can’t comment much on the death on Ashe. I feel like Blitz shouldn’t be allowed to just walk up and do that, but that’s getting into the matchup too much. Your Q was well-placed. It was a little greedy to try to hit both Yasuo and Blitz instead of just Blitz, but that might not be fair to say since I’m saying that with the additional knowledge of how things turned out.
  • With the double kill, the lane is over. The first Q was obviously done; he was going to avoid it with either the dash itself or with his W. The second one onto Blitz was fine. It’s very clear this time that you ate the hook on purpose and it was the right choice as Ashe would have gotten hit. He then went back in and died anyway which you couldn’t have done anything about.

And I want to point out that for the past six years, I have played only one top and only one champion in top (other than when I played ARAM). If you wish to disregard what I have to say because of that, it's fine.

Your advice is VERY helpful. I got hit with like a triple Yasuo in 3 games last night, I chose to just ban him eventually .-. Like did not think he was that popular as most everyone is either going Jinx, Garen, Naut, or Malphite atm.... so I focus ban them more. I think that round I banned Naut? (Lord he’s crazy idk how you can even play safe against Naut, his sustain allows for such a free all in at any point in the game). But thank you, I did step in front of the Ashe Q but as you can see, but games my ADC either AFKed (Kog) or just simply fed (idk if she intentionally did or not but her positioning sometimes pushed me more toward her choosing to INT, one time she even walked directly into them when there was clear visibility of them both.) I eventually went top cause’ I felt my Top lane would do better with my assistance, but then he afked for like 5 mins? So then I just didn’t know what to do as I have poor wave clear as Nami and my team wasn’t really doing good. I know going top sometimes helps, hell even one game I went top on Nami after my Draven flamed me and me and my top laner ended up with the highest KDAs in the game and won lol. The Q on Blitz is impossibly hard to read, especially on some of his skins. I went a game on Ashe I believe most recently, or was it Cait?, where his hook had absolutely no connection to my champ but he still hooked me.... Like even the animation of her (whichever one) didn’t have his hook around me I think, it just straight sent me floating toward him?!

I think an issue right now is these supports who are tanks, like blitz, who engage really well have to much freedom to simply walk past the minion wave and engage. Blitz literally just Ws, or flashes past minions, hooks, and you eat 700 DMG lvl 3. @.@ Morgana for the win. Maybe more champs need spell shields? Idk lol. I’m excited for the Lethality changes as item 3814 will stay on like Banchee’s Veil and be AD
