So RIOT, how should ADCs counter non-hard cc debuffs?

With item 3139 being out of the picture now and item 3156 only applying to magic damage, what of those non-magic DOT or item 3147, not to mention Zed Darius Talon who all have non-hard-cc components which you would like to remove? Also summoner 14 cant be removed too now.

So only if an ADC takes item 3053 or item 3157, which are both pretty bad on most ADCs, or summoner 1 which is far inferior to summoner 7 summoner 21 and summoner 14 on ADCs, can they remove or live through non-magic DOTs and delayed damage procs.

QSS was needed in its original state. It was one of 3 possible items for defense as an ADC, and the most common too. Sure Zhonya's was the equivalent for AP and that got some work done, but its main feature was not tweaked to be less effective, only on a longer CD. SO why was QSS so heavily nerfed?

EDIT: If you are saying that no item should hard counter a champion's kit then explain how item 3157 does not do that. I admit that item 3139 was pretty strong, it would have been ok with a much longer CD, like every 120 seconds or so, but not the removal of all non-hard cc debuffs.

They shouldn't.

The entire point of the change was that having an item which completely negates parts of a champion's kit isn't really fair. For example, you deal with a darius by kiting him and not letting him stack up on you, not by pressing your get out of jail free button.

Zed's imbalanced and needs nerfs, but that's true anyway. Having an item which arbitrarily hard counters debuff based champions is really bad gameplay.

item 3157

You're not really supposed to hard counter some of that stuff, you know.

Especially the Zed ult. An ADC should not be able to completely negate the defining ultimate of an assassin, the class intended to counter them in the first place.

Then explain why item 3157 is allowed to do that. Some mages are just as squishy, if not more than ADCs.

And serve different roles.

ADC's are different than mages. ADC's counter tanks (naturally, but not always), whereas mages (generally, but not always) do not. Just like how assassins counter ADC's, but mages have a few more tools and items to survive.

Their roles are similar when it comes to killing squishies, like ADCs. Mages get countered by building item 3156 as the ADC, but there is not a decent equivalent for AD assassins. there is only item 3053 which requires you to build health items to become truly effective, and also rapidly decays unlike the shield form item 3156. Remember that AD and AP assassins typically focus on killing the ADC or each other to gain kills. Most assassins dont go for the tanks regardless of AD or AP. So by not having a good AD based counter item for ADC's to have, AD assassins have a pretty easy time farming up kills. Also remember that most AP champs have some form of point and click or AOE hard cc built into their kit whereas most ADC's need some setup for their hard cc to function (like with Jinx or Caitlyn).

You're just supposed to stand there and die with no hope of counterplay. Zed ult=free kill on the adc every time it's up.

Not sure if it this is sarcasm or not.

I'm entirely serious, not much you can do when he can dive you under tower, miss all his spells, auto you twice then the death mark+duskblade kills you. Pretty busted champion.

That was why QSS was so effective. To offset the busted champions/items

Because Zhonya's isn't literally always a good thing for the user like QSS is. Being in stasis for a few seconds can get you killed just as easily as it can save your life.
