gnar nerf is pretty unnecessary.

gnar is picked 9% of the time in ranked, has a 50% winrate, and people still qq like mad for nerfs on him. meanwhile rammus has almost the same pick rate, has a a 54% winrate in ranked, and is pretty much an all-around terror in most elos. why doesn't he get a nerf? in fact, gnar isn't even in the top 10 for highest winrates, and not even close, might i add. so why nerf him? to make the babbies in top lane stop qqing about him instead of just, idk COUNTERPICKING/COUNTERBUILDING HIM? how about amumu, who maintains a 55% winrate and 11% pick rate in ALL modes of ranked? why does riot nerf people who are in a good place, while leaving others bullcrappingly strong who have high pick/win rates alone?

He's also permabanned in high tiers of play. Which is why he's getting nerfed because he's currently top lane cancer.

Or because a single type of character making an entire class of character impossible to lane with probably isn't a good idea.

Just a thought experiment, how do you counterbuild gnar? He scales almost entirely on AD, yet has a very hard hitting %maxhp magic damage on W.

liandry's void staff, pen boots. do not engage when he's about to go mega. ez. for melee, brutalizer, lw, bt/bork and then stack hp(banshees), and armor(randuin's/frozen heart). problem solved. and there's the solution to play against gnar.

He really doesn't have any large openings where you have an advantage. At best, you can hope for a small amount of equal ground until he transforms. You'll eat a ton of Max health % damage getting to him though. His bounce is a disengage though, so there is a good chance you'll eat damage and get nothing in return.

Riot doesn't want you to counterbuild; they've been putting %HP magic damage on so many champions lately.

also, how about janna, who gets picked over 20% of the time past silver, and has a 55% winrate? why isn't anything done about that?

Because winrates/pickrates are not the sole factor for determining balance

It's because he's super horrible to lane against. Seriously, its like Nasus bad. I absolutely hate fighting him. He's like a bruiser tank wearing vayne as a hat. I can't stand anything about him. Also his voice over makes my skin crawl.
