Rune pages should be free; we already pay for runes

Title. It costs between 9300 and 11600 to fill a page with runes. It shouldn't cost five dollars for a page. (and for that matter, the 590 it costs in RP isn't even the right RP equivalent to cost 6300. It needs to be 3150 to be consistent.)

They make their money from skins. If players are jipped 6300 IP for a rune page instead of using that IP for a champion, they won't have a new champion to buy a skin for.

Riot actually loses money with the incorrect conversion, since most skins are 975 RP. I earn a 6300 champion that I like, I'll probably buy a skin. But even if I buy a rune page with RP, they're making less than if I got to buy a champion instead.

No, there's almost nothing to spend IP on don't remove Rune pages from being purchasable......

It will literally make IP feel more worthless than it should be.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever read on this website, even if we include in-game chat.

They have to implement hextech crafting because those like me who got near everything or everything just have nothing to spend it on, rune pages were part of the IP dump which caps hence they thought of hextech crafting as a fun addition.

"I have all this money, gee I wish people would charge me for things that should be free. Why aren't I paying to breathe?"

There's a difference between lowering the price and outright making them free, I'll change my opinion if hextech crafting is a good money dump however for now I'm against it since there's literally nothing to dump money on. Which may not seem good to you for the short term but can really impact ip worth in the long term.

IP doesn't have to be worth something once you have everything. You're trying to argue that because 5-year players have everything, every player should be punished for it.

So what about those who paid RP for it, that would be a money lost for riot.

They don't have to refund anything, just like they don't refund RP when the price of a champion goes down or when a skin goes on sale right after you buy it.

But if they do that, no one will buy the rune pages with RP. Charging RP for runes isn't an option, either, because then League's technically pay2win, since you can then buy any and every rune page instantly and have one for every matchup while most people still have cookie cutters and aren't done buying theirs yet. Riot's a business and quite a few people dish out money for rune pages because of how expensive they are.

It technically is already pay2win since more rune page = you can set up more rune for counter-pick champ.

Except most people get 1-2 decent rune pages which they can edit as they please to focus on the game. Just because someone has 20 pages they bought doesn't mean they're ALWAYS at an advantage, because a regular player could still have runes they bought with IP to counter a specific rune page that may have been taken against them. There's still to the potential to counter it, which is not based on how much money has been spent on the game, which is equal and "fair", so Rito games can charge for it. Runes on the other hand, would be far too pay2win.

Yes. You can get only 1-2 "decent" pages. Can't get better than that. But, if you have more rune pages you have more chance to set up better runes for specific champs. Let's say you like to play attack speed based champ and enemy somehow counter pick you, what do you do? you have no option but to use this attack speed rune page or play AP champ. (since the other page should be for AP champs right?)

More rune page = more advantage. They can solve this just by letting people edit rune page in champ select, but they won't because $$$.

meh riot can already get away with making a single mono-stat page cost (at least) 21,525 IP, it just means you've got least IP to spend on champions, so you'll just use RP for that.

Yes the system is completely over priced
