Darius is unhealthy for the game in his current state.

He loses lane to almost no meta top laner. If he goes even in lane he is more powerful than most top laners do when they're 10/0. He builds about 4k HP, 200 MR and Armor He does over 200 damage per hit He does over 1000 true damage with one button He has over 500 constant movement speed with common builds He heals more HP with 1 Q than squishes have.

Overall, he deals more damage than most carries, and he is tankier than most bruisers. This is not a healthy balance. Add to that that he can do 1000 true damage to all enemies after just killing 1, and he by far outdamages even the best hypercarries in teamfights.

It is obvious that he is getting the Lee SIn and Zed treatment; not being nerfed because people love to play him and see dunks. But it's so painfully obvious that he outclasses any other similar champions. He is reliable, not needing gold to be effective, he is safe, building full tank, and he has higher reward than most high risk champions.

Darius is not healthy for the game in his current, hyper-carry state. This is evidenced by the fact that he has one of the highest play rates and win rates, with a 55% win rate AND CLIMBING in diamond with one of the highest play rates.

I am a Darius main myself, and it's just laughable to play the game with him. I almost feel like I can't lose lane, and if I do, I tell myself "I'll just pick up a triple in the next teamfight by pressing R." and I do. He is fun to play, but that should be no reason not to nerf him.

TL;DR, but I am sure Riot already knows this. Darius has always been strong, and despite that when the juggernaut updates came in they buffed him insanely. They know he is broken unless it is high elo where everything is a lot more coordinated. They just don't care. He has always been one of the most banned too. You would think they'd shed some light on it.

He loses lane to almost no meta top laner.

because the current meta is COTC tanks, who he counters. Darius has always been a pretty decent spot; he's getting stronger because the champions he directly counters have themselves shoved all of his counters out of the spotlight. Jayce, Kennen, Riven, Jax, etc can't deal with the absurdity of that keystone; Darius not only has the means to fight those tanks, but he himself uses the shield to great extent.

He does over 200 damage per hit

This isn't unique to him. Most champions that build AD will do that much per hit.

He does over 1000 true damage with one button

In a normal game it's closer to 800 unless he gives up COTC for Fervor, or builds more damage than Cleaver. And he also needs his passive stacked for that damage.

Basically, Darius is this strong because of the game shifting drastically in his favor, not because of any inherent flaw with himself; he is very well-designed and by far the best made Juggernaut to date. COTC has given his best matchups the spotlight over champions that give him trouble, Fervor is great and he can use COTC greatly, Rylai's is nerfed, and Ghost is absurdly strong. A lot of things have come together very recently to push Darius into god-tier.

It is obvious that he is getting the Lee SIn and Zed treatment; not being nerfed because people love to play him and see dunks.

His winrate only got this high recently; considering that Riot's balance team is off for the holidays, we'll have to wait until later this month or next year to see what, if any, changes they have.

I can't take people seriously when they complain about Yasuo. The reason I don't think Yasuo is a problem is because he's literally always squishy, and very easy to focus down. If he builds tank items, he's not doing good damage. Meanwhile Darius can build mostly tank and still have crazy damage. You can easily focus down a Yasuo in a teamfight. You cannot focus Darius. He's going to be healing and tanking tons of damage, and he's going to dunk whoever he feels like. And if he's good enough to get a kill he'll do it again, and again, and again.
