Can anyone guess the difference between Graves and Olaf?
No?
Graves doesn't lose his passive resistances when he uses his ultimate

Agreed, he should be able to become immune to CC with no penalties. There's no way that would be stupid op and he'd get dumpstered again, right? LoL needs its own Naix.

I agree. Why should melee be useful
They should be, but useful and "stupid broken OP" are not the same thing.
It would be even more OP than zhonyas active, and we don't need more shit like that in the game.
Zhonya's isn't "OP," it's "useful." It's difficult to use effectively against a skilled opponent and allows the enemy time to reposition around you. You can cancel some spells at the cost of being less able to flee afterwards.
For comparison, see the "original" item: Eul's Scepter of Divinity. A 2-second removal that can be used on any hero. A popular support pick, but nobody complains about it because it's a big part of the game. Still think Zhonya's is OP?
Zhonya's isn't "OP,"
Hey my defensive item has 120 AP!

"Some spells"? You mean almost every single offensive spell in the goddamn game? The way it functions with some ults (Fidd, Morgana, Swain) is incredibly stupid, AND it gives a fuckton of AP AND a good amount of armor. It's only difficult to use if YOU aren't skilled, and even that's being kind.
Saying "Well the item it came from was even more OP!" is a pretty dumb justification...
So... what about Morgana then?
olaf doesn't have resistances on his passive, he has them on his ult.
He is reffing to the passive portion of the ultimate there smarty pants.

graves's ultimate doesn't grant resistances
Be awesome if it did Overpowered, but awesome
I agree with the idea for a similar to graves passive at olaf's ultimate, counterplay is already mobility and olaf is meele with 3 armor per lvl when graves is range with 3,5 armor per lvl
I really don't get the comparison between Graves and Olaf.
Graves is an ADC, his passive isn't even that good past early game. His ultimate is a long range "nuke" (well it was before Graves got nerfed into oblivion way back in the day) Olaf is a AD bruiser who soaks up a lot of damage and ignores all CC. Giving him 1.5k gold worth of armor and MR would be stupidly broken. He would just run to your adc and force them away from the teamfight if not kill them with his spammable sustained damage.
Why do you think Singed got his tenacity on R removed?
Lol? Graves is ranged and Olaf is melee. Give one good reason to why Olaf gets less defensive steroids in a teamfight than a ranged champion, not even including the fact that Graves has more armor/level than olaf.
Can Graves be completely immune to CC while having tons of health and dealing true damage?
There is your answer
Olaf can walk through an infinite amount of crowd control, I don't think it would be too fair to also let him keep 1.4k gold of innate tankiness too.
I have no idea what you are trying to say.
I mean BT isn't a defensive item, and neither it is an offensive item that gives huge defensive stats.
Barrier is beaten by Heal atm, both are summoner spells anyways which Mages can take too
The thing is, the "more OP" (which grants movespeed-- and a lot of it, instead of damage/defense stats) version isn't OP. The only reason there's any trouble balancing for Zhonya's is the AP-- the active itself is just fine, and that's what we were initially considering. If Zhonya's is a problem, it's for one of two reasons:
I kind of have a feeling that the complaints about Zhonya's are the same as the complaints that Riot apparently gets about healing. It can negate things, so it feels unsatisfying to play against. If there IS an issue with the active, it could be easily solved by moving the cast point.
Overpowered is defined as "To affect so strongly as to make helpless or ineffective; overwhelm." So I suppose, by that definition, the whole point of Zhonya's is to be "overpowering."
