Can you reach master/challenger with support only ?

I was close to d1 promos with support only, thought I was pretty good... then I lost every fucking game I played for 2 weeks and I'm low d3 now. It actually got me thinking if I need to switch to top/jungle to get over d3-d1 and on to masters. Idk what to do anymore, I tried playing different supports, even my Soraka isn't good anymore. I just feel like I have no impact on the game anymore. I dont remember seeing challenger supports other than pros on streams and charts... I've never been a meta player and the thought of me playing fiora/jayce top makes me puke. I had a 60% win rate in d2 and now I'm stuck in d3... Idk how that makes sense but...
