Nasus.

So, here we have a champion who can literally build full tank and still one shot people -- why? "Durrr he got stac--" no, not a valid excuse. Farming is CORE TO PLAYING THIS GAME. Why should he be rewarded that much for it, when his kit is entirely targeted?

How do you beat him in lane? No matter who I play, he just starts stacking resists and ignores me as he farms away. Late game, he can quite literally 1v5 and kill most, if not all, of us.

You didn't play against Nasus in lane your last game, you played Shaco jungle, and a Master Yi laned against him... I think the 8/15 Master Yi laning against Nasus may have been your problem...

Yes, I know, but whenever I go top I usually ban Nasus because I can't beat him. That game, he literally 1v5d us and won, so we just splitpushed around him -- and he was one auto from killing our nexus, but everyone spawned and we were able to end after acing them.

Thats why u play something that goes against his "resists". Trundle, Irelia, Brolaf. ALso "stacking" is valid excuse. Competent jungler and top laner wont let Nasus stack. Also there is no reason to allow game to go into late game if there is Nasus. Even late game, all u need is healing reduction and peel while your adc/apc shreds him.

For example your last game. None of you built QSS to counter his wither. Noone built Morellonomicon or Mortal reminder to counter his healing. You had Lee Sin support with ZZ ROT. Nasus loves ZZ rot. Its easy stacks. That Nasus made huge mistake. He overcapped his CDR. If he built somethnig like Warmogs instead of Frozen Heart, he would probably win game.

Any tank should not take more than 1/6 hp from a single Q during late-game. Just peel him off your carries and let them shred him. Problem solved.

If you don't have a tank, then that's a problem with your team comp and you probably would lose anyway.

Nasus is easy to team fight against and easy to counter. Good Nasus players work around lane harass and teamfights. Some Nasus weaknesses:

  • He stinks in teamfights
  • Low stacks by 20 minutes means he misses his power spike
  • Easily kited
  • Decision-making dependent - A Nasus will often lose games due to his/her decisions-making despite stacking well - Deciding when to split-push and when to group is probably the difference between a Silver or lower Nasus that stacks well vs a Gold or higher one.
  • Very very weak early, if he dies too often early he is behind. Once severely behind he will not be relevant probably until the game is close to over
  • CC that can only focus one person
  • Diminishing returns on stacks after about 700 - Stacks just mean a lot less the longer the game goes on. I lose a lot of my games when I have over 800 stacks. It means the game is close and the opposing team has been able to mitigate my presence.

Nasus is a very good duelist and skirmisher (3v3 or less). If you try to fight on his terms (in lane, 1v1, Using your CC to engage and not saving it for the right moment) you will lose. You can't fight on his terms or you will lose. There are several champions that easily counter Nasus and can completely disrupt his lane.

My least favorite match-ups are Olaf, MasterYi, and Fiora. I will lose a 1v1 against these champions typically. I almost always avoid fighting them 1v1 unless I am very ahead.

Other tough match-ups include Jax, Teemo, Trundle, Darius, and Pantheon. These matchup are more skill dependent though. I know there are windows when I can fight them and it is a matter of knowing when to engage, disengage, and re-engage. Really good Pantheon players will absolutely wreck me in laning and put A LOT of pressure on other parts of the map. They will win the game for their team before I can come back.

About once a month someone on these forums complain that Nasus is overpowered and point to the infinite scaling.

Nasus is a champion that excels when you fight on his terms and is irrelevant if you do not.

In low Elo, I would honestly say just play the farm game with Nasus and then go and pressure other lanes. You can do that earlier than he can. If you put no pressure on a bad Nasus he will probably lose the game for his team while they fight 4v5.
