Knowing and/or not knowing your current power level.

Aside from all of my bs posts, this is a serious sorta discussion.

One VERY BIG thing I notice between a player like me and high elo players is the knowledge of the current power level on the champion your playing, which also is known as powerspikes.

The big thing I've noticed is this:

Low elo/me: Needs to finish a complete item first before feeling confident in trying to plan their next move, and must have full resources to expend. High elo/pros: Can outplay anyone with their current item set, no matter how incomplete their source of power seems to be. Level of resources are managed with mechanical expertise.

This creates a bit of an issue where the former level of play has to often make plays that involve a certain resource that isn't at 100% just yet. Be it finishing an item, an ultimate off cooldown*, having enough mana for a full combo, a summoner's off cooldown and so forth.

*Foxdrop mentions in a video of his in that it's wise to wait for an ultimate cooldown from one of your teammates before going for a play.

It's because of this, a player like myself is normally in situations where if only I had a complete finished item with the powerspike needed from it, the deed that was to be pulled off could've went without a hitch.

But then I see one of Dong Huap's vids talking about an Ekko pro-player knowing exactly how much damage he'll deal and mana he'll spend in an early laning phase at low level vs. his diving lane opponent makes me feels annoyed at myself overall. Cause of course, the Ekko manages to kill his lane opponent in the process, despite him being low on mana and the logical move being "recall to base and have lane push back out to center".

For sure, I've played my MonkeyKing several times to know at what item level I should be able to do my thing, if only a situation didn't occur where I had to act fast or suffer the consequences.

e.g. Team rushes drake, team starts a teamfight, enemy team bum rush-sieges a tower, enemy team starts to seize a vital objective, enemy team picks off team member etc. Which ALL could've been prevented if only I was there AND managed to mechanically outplay them all with just a item 3134 alone.

I would scream "LET ME FINISH MY item 3071 FIRST", but hey...again, I'm a dumb bronzie. What do I know? My mechanics are shit which is why I feed my enemy laners in the first place... sigh

And yes, I'm aware that it takes proper time and dedication to master all of this....then it still raises the other question I have in that why the hell do dumb-as-bricks people like me keep playing League of Legends? :P

"Nah you just suck at the game." [Totally not showing contempt behind that comment] Me: Well, I already know that dammit. So what, is it law to make sure I feel worse about myself more than usual unless I'm a god at the game on the fly?
