Garen Demacian Justice

Cost: No Cost Range: 400

Garen calls upon the might of Demacia to deal a finishing blow to an enemy champion that deals damage based upon how much Health his target has missing.

Garen calls upon the might of Demacia to attempt to execute an enemy champion, dealing 175/350/525 magic damage plus 1 damage for every 3.5/3/2.5 Health the target is missing.

Nidalee Cougar: Nidalee's next attack deals 0 (+0) (+36% Ability Power) magic damage. Takedown deals 2.5% additional damage for each 1% Health the target is missing, up to 0 (+0) (+90% Ability Power) (250% total damage).Hunted targets take 33% additional damage from Takedown.

Why in heavens name is Nidalee allowed to have a Garen ultimate at level 1? Why is she allowed to use it as a gap closer while Garen gets kited to hell and back again? These are questions that the balance team needs to answer. This is why nobody on these boards trusts the balance team and their decisions.

What you're referring to is nidalee's auto attack modifying Q, it's not a gap closer, you need to utilize her W in order to get the gap closer. The auto attack gains only 75 range.

Nidalee starts with a base AD of 48 (We'll assume she has roughly 35 AP from items runes and masteries), level 1 Q with the hunted extra damage, deals a maximum of 48 +13 (the actual additional damage for activating Q) + 120 + 42 = 223 dmg That assumes that she is receiving the maximum bonus from missing enemy hp the bonus for which is actually 1.5% for every missing 1% not 2.5%. So that's a difference of 48 hp from Garen's ultimate base damage. The enemy needs only be missing 120 hp for Garen's ultimate to beat Nidalee's Q at it's max damage.

How did I figure this out? I used the correct scaling on his ultimate's damage, which is 28.57% / 33.33% / 40% of enemy's missing health.

The only thing that you had correct was the base damage for Garen's ultimate, and the AP scaling for Nidalee's Q, you left out the AD scaling and the additional damage that it deals simply for activating the ability. I can only assume you randomly threw numbers out there based on the knowledge that both deal damage based on missing enemy health, in which case, you should also have issues with Elise Fizz Jinx Quinn Riven Volibear as they all have damage based on missing health as well.

The Q is an execute, it's an AA modifier, her gap closer is her W. Also, given the damage that Garen' ult can deal, Nidalee needs mid/late game amounts of AD in order to match the damage, but it is possible with a good assassin build. Granted, I'd be a bit upset if a tank could out damage an assassin. Of course, it would be nice if Garen got a QoL ult buff.

Actually, there are people that trust the balance team. :P
