As a season 2 & 3 Veigar main, I like Veigar's changes. BUT...

Like I said, I believe Veigar's changes are healthy and going in a good direction. Just because movement creep has become the IN thing doesn't mean he should have an unfair insta-stun so he can 100-0 people with almost no punishment (other than he loses his one shot and his disengage, becoming near useless for the rest of the fight). I think Riot is going in the right direction with Veigar, this change makes him an overall healthy champion that is maybe even LCS worthy.

Or it would IF... Using Veigar's E actually felt like trapping a person. Swain has his snare, Viktor has his slow/stun field, and Orianna has her ult. After a delay like the one implemented, there should actually be some sort of pay-off. Right now, especially with so many dashes, an enemy can flash, blink, or just dash through the E and get the stun; even just waiting it out in there and dodging the W is good enough. Anything they do can screw Veigar over, because they aren't actually trapped, they just have to not walk into the walls and avoid his W (and maybe now his Q) which isn't too hard given the time it takes to come down and the limited AOE. Going close to the enemy can actually make you the fucked one, because once your Wall goes down, it is free game for them to tear you a new asshole. Think of his E currently as putting an insanely dangerous prisoner inside of a prison cell with electrified walls that will crumble in a few seconds and you only have one shot to properly put that prisoner down before he gets out. All that prisoner has to do is not touch the walls, dodge the bullet, then jump on you and tear your throat out for getting too close to a crumbling prison cell. Overall, it may be more dangerous for you to approach them if they didn't walk into the .75 second to erect stun walls than it is worth. If you can't hit them with your W and go in to try and burst them to only fail, then you have no more escapes and they have free reign to just put their throbbing champion wee wees into your cute purple bumhole.

So, because there is no point in just saying what is wrong with it, I will give some suggestions to actually make the enemy feel "trapped" inside of his E, like Riot described how they wanted an enemy to feel if Veigar could hit his E successfully.

A. Make it so that enemies put inside the box cannot dash out of it, like with Azir's ult's wall.

B. Slow the enemies trapped inside by a small amount and keep them slowed for a small amount of time once they leave the wall/the walls fall (whichever comes first; with the slow scaling down over 1.5 seconds).

C. Allow his W to increase splash radius to fit inside the entire box if used inside his E, but keeping it so the splash doesn't exit his E so it doesn't allow him to hit his W even if the enemy escaped before the walls came up.

Those are just some suggestions. If you agree with my message, like the suggestions, or even just want Riot to get to see a response about Veigar that includes constructive criticism/feedback to hopefully get them to continue looking at this champion instead of just letting him gather dust after their most recent changes to him, please upvote this post. Commenting also helps and I would love to hear your responses or read the discussions sparked by the thread.

I'm a fan of A, since the effort needed to get someone in da box is way harder. Reward players for trapping a player other then ohhhh your slightly stuck.

I very much like A and B. Don't love C, but good ideas on all three.

I loved the Veig changes when I saw them, but I agree that now that so many things are skillshots in his kit, he needs help hitting them.

Yeah. My whole thing is, if they are going to make his E an actual skillshot that is harder to hit, you need to buff it decently. The current buffs aren't adequate (thus the reason people are angry), so I believe adding an actual effect that makes people go "Oh crap. I am trapped inside the Veigar's E" instead of "I am inside the E? Well good thing I didn't touch the wall. If I did, I would be pretty trash; it is so easy to avoid afterall." so you don't feel like you wasted your E if they didn't touch the walls, especially because his E is not even a good disengage spell anymore at the moment; which is the only thing that used to keep him alive if enemies were like "SWIGGITY SWOOTY! COMIN' FOR THAT VEIGAR BOOTY".

Haha those quotes? That's exactly the way I talk in game.

But yeah, I have a friend who plays veigar a lot, and he tried him for the first time since the changes last night. He still did pretty well; I refuse to admit that Riot has "gutted" the champion. He's healthier than he was pre-rework, and yes, that favors his enemies. Sometimes, that's what needs to happen before they can buff them in other ways.

This is the perfect way to buff him. I hated the insta-stun on the cage, but it needs some power back. I'm glad to see some reasonable, calm, funny people having a good time talking about it, instead of raging at Riot and trolling for upvotes. I hope they see your thread and take some ideas from it.

I do agree Veigar needs something else aside his newly added no-dash policy... I'd say that the circle should do some dmg before it becomes a stun, meaning that If you walk out you'll receive some punishment and Veigar will be rewarded for actually trapping and/or hurting you somehow. Also this will keep Veigar's mains mastery over hitting the circle dead-on but this time you'd be just adding to your dmg which is already ridiculously high but hey, do you want a burst mage or not?

Of course once the walls arm themselves the dmg portion of the spell would be no longer applicable, the enemy has to choose either receiving some punishment or getting stunned (to be potentially punished even more). I'd be against an slow since it'd add too much power for him, dmg is what a burst mage wants, so give him LOTS of it.

Hhm. I do like your idea of making it so a person has to make a choice between getting stunned or getting damaged. Maybe have it so there's a small area in the center of the Event Horizon that will deal constant damage when the ability activates. This could make it so if someone DOES get stuck inside the cage, they have to maneuver more carefully within it if they want to avoid his W.

Remember kiddies, upvotes help a lot.

Just played Veigar; must say, he needs major buffs. I had a ton of kills I stole from my teammates, yet I was the most useless of them all. I dunno, Veigar is too weak atm.

Yay. It seems Riot has taken my advice for the "NO DASHING OUT ALLOWED" buff to Veigar's E.

I do hope that a member of the balance team saw this thread and got the idea from my suggestions. I would feel so elated if I helped the game out in any way like that.
