Buffs are in the jungle therefore distribution is judged by jungler

Same goes for all camps really. You may think "it's just one camp," but if all 3 lanes say that, then I only get one, and I don't have a lane full of minions to go far. If you're 50 gold off last whisper and they have a ton of armor and all lanes are pushed, fine, just ask, don't simply take like it belongs to you.

Now the real point of this thread. Buffs. You're an 0/3 Zed who wants blue? I'm sorry, but that cdr is not important enough considering there is a high chance you're gonna just feed that buff over to the enemy mid lane. You're an 2/0 Orianna however? I'll probably give that even if I'm some mana hungry bastard like Hecarim.

By all means though, do not just walk over to a buff (unless it's an enemy buff, then I don't care what you do) and think "oh hey I can have this." The only time you can do that is if you're an 17/0 Lucian who has the shoulders of Jesus himself. That or if I'm playing Fiddlesticks or Rammus who don't need red at all. Even then if you're feeding I'll just give it to top. And mid laners; Buy. Some. God. Damn. Mana. Items. That is the point of them. You don't need a 10 minute Zhonya's, so buy a forbidden idle or a chalice. Don't act like the only way you can get mana regen is from blue. Again, same principle as with that Lucian, you're a 14/2 Ahri? Here you go. I'm playing Lee Sin? Here fine I don't need it. But you better not be feeding at least.

Yes, the buffs help everyone. Yes, they should be given to people who use them best. But a 10/1 Kha'Zix can utilize red a lot better than a 2/7 Corki.

And seriously, if you really want/need a buff, just ask ffs. Most junglers who aren't pricks or fed as hell will give you buffs as long as you aren't feeding. It's the whole taking camps like they're there for you, when they are designed to be taken by the person who gets 30 extra gold from them. Taking camps literally gives less gold to the team.

NEVER take camps without asking. When jungler says no, NO MEANS NO. Laners need to stop oppressing us. Its bad enough we get a wage differential and make less gold for more work.

Yeah, because you back off from my lane every time I back ping, right?

Also, I usually don't want blue for the mana, I want it for the CDR. If I need it, I will take it. "No ganks for you then"? Well, I probably wouldn't have taken it without asking if you were helping my lane anyway, so I don't give a shit.

And lastly, no, the jungler does not own every camp in the jungle any more than I own the CS in my lane. If my stupid mid laner roams bot and takes a whole wave, there is nothing I can do or am entitled to do to stop him. Likewise for you and your jg creeps. You can't stop anyone from taking it. I will never report anyone on our team that takes "your" jg creeps from you.

Jungle is on the team, so distribution is judged by the team.

Long story short: The person who will most benefit from having that blue buff should get it, be that the jungler, the mid laner, or whomever else.

It doesn't belong to any one person, but should be allocated based on need. Sadly, most people don't understand this or care overmuch.

I play a lot of jungle, and usually give the buffs to whoever I think needs them most. If I'm an autoattack-based jungler, I take most of the reds for myself until very late-game. If I'm a mage, I give them to whatever laner is nearest after I've taken the first one or two for the experience. If I'm a mana-using jungler and our mid is manaless, I take all of the blues; if our mid-laner is a mana-user, I give them most of them after the first 1 or 2, so long as they actually come to collect it. If the enemy is heavily counterjungling, I will usually take every buff I can if there's a risk of them being stolen.

However, when I actually play mid - I never seem to get blue at all. Even manaless junglers tend to take them all. I don't know why this is, but I've stopped expecting them and just buy mana regen.

This. I expect no buffs from anyone when I'm playing a laner. I expect few ganks. I am a jungle main, so I know how annoying "plz gank" at minute 2 before you finish red is.

This reminds me of something else.

Most of the time, if I'm the mid laner, I'd rather have my jungler give me a good gank than give me the blue buff. If they take all the blue buffs and then use them to give me good ganks that result in a kill or assist, I'm much happier than if they just give me blue.

The main reason I want blue as a mid-laner is usually because the enemy mid has blue, or is manaless, and is pushing me under the tower. A blue buff will help me survive that, but a gank will give our team a much bigger advantage.
