Does Sona feel super slow and clunky, or is it just me?
Like i play her and i'm just constantly amazed with how slow she and her kit is. Sure late game when you have finally managed to max out your CDR it's a bit easier to deal with, but DAMN if that first 15-20 mins doesn't feel like you could walk away from the computer and make coffee while waiting for her abilities to come back up. I'll even say that Q is in a more or less ok place cooldown wise, but the other 75% of her kit is painfully over taxed CD wise. 10 seconds for an unimpressive heal and a shield that they really need to buff the duration of (let's not lie if it lasted 3 seconds it wouldn't be all that much better), 12 seconds for a really pitiful and short lived movement speed bonus. And let's not forget just how painfully long her ultimate's cooldown is at rank 1. Her one crowd control effect and it's stuck on a 140 second base cooldown. As i said early it "gets better" in the late game when you have maxed your CDR, but that's sort of the issue. Sona is so reliant on getting to that maxed out point that she really doesn't do much until you get there. Even with like 20% CDR your abilities still feel very slow to come up, leaving you in positions where you get to do 1 rotation before the fight is finished. Fights (not hit and run skirmishes) just don't last long enough for Sona to be able to cast her utility abilities enough to make a difference.
There just strikes me as so many little things that could be improved about Sona. Like make her abilities go back to being auras (short lived ones but aura's none the less) instead of one time use bonuses. Allow the empowered attack from her using her Q to be able to hit structures (maybe at a reduced amount but still). Allow the empowered attack from Q to be consumable off abilities as well. Lower her base cooldowns on W and E so they can be used more then once per fight in the early to mid game. Lower the cooldown of her rank one ultimate to 100-120 seconds, she's already lacking CC why make the one she does have be on such a long base cooldown? Turn her empowered E into a stun; 1 second at rank one, with +.25 seconds per rank. Allow her E to give allies the ability to avoid unit collision while it's effecting them. Allow allies effect by her E to ignore slows (can still be stunned, rooted, or suppressed).
As is her E is so-so offensively (assuming you have the CDR to be able to cast it more the once per 10 seconds), but defensively it's basically useless. The range you have to be in to tag your allies often means you can help them without throwing yourself in the fray, even if you do tag an ally they often will not be able to use the full effect of the movement speed buff, due to slows or simply unit collision cutting into most if not all of the time the buff would be active.
