Can a Rioter please post on why they aren't doing anything to Tahm Kench?

A tank who gets damage from building health, who also has a huge percent max health magic damage suppress. Why isn't riot doing something about this? If you're not going to nerf his damage at least nerf his passive. It lasts way too long, and it should go away after he devours or stuns you with his q, and he should have to stack it up all over again.

Yes please fix him I'm tired of going into bot lane against a "Support" champ that does more damage then his ADC half the time.

I was thinking more how its almost impossible to go against him top lane.

While top lane Kench may be overtuned, they may be keeping an eye on how he interacts with the new marksmen, as with most ADC's getting buffed there is a greater risk of Kench getting kited and dumpstered (which is generally the best way to deal with him)

I think the biggest problem with him is the extra passive on his R:

Abyssal Voyage Passive: Tahm Kench's basic attacks and damaging abilities deal bonus magic damage. Bonus Magic Damage: 20 (+ 4 / 6 / 8% bonus health)

Why? This is where it became overloaded, he only needs item 3115 as an offensive item to pound in stacks of Acquired Taste faster, and to really pile on the magic damage. The Nashors Tooth is a good option for when ahead, the cooldown and AP are the main attraction, the magic damage on hit is just bonus, but synergies with his kit.

With 40% cooldown reduction, his Devour (W) at level 5 has (10 x 0.4) a 6 second cooldown, and the ability suppresses for 3 seconds at level 5. With 40% cdr, his Q has 3.6 second cooldown, it slows by 70% for 2 seconds at level 5.

So after you get spat out, you have 6 seconds before he can do it again. You can bet that after you get spat out, you will get slowed by his Q, then auto attacked, maybe twice, if twice you will be stunned by his Q, or if once you will be slowed again by his Q... then stunned and Devoured again. Rinse repeat, he has you on permanent lockdown.

This level of CC wouldnt be so bad maybe if it wasnt for the fact that he moves super fast, and has 2 life bars so he can do a little tanking while he tanks....and his basic attacks and abilities scale on bonus health!

Not to mention the fact that he is basically a walking item 3157 summoner 4 hybrid for his team. Thats another issue.

I think he just needs his R passive taken away, I mean that is just unneeded power, and maybe increase the cooldown on his W so he cant lockdown so hard, and do massive % chunks of health damage so swiftly, and longer time between iterations of saving his teammates.... you know it sounds like this ONE W BUTTON DOSE A DAMN LOT! Oh yeah, he can also spit minions out for harass and farming too..... Wow, that button does A FUCKING LOT! Maybe, he is just too overloaded to be balanced. He has 3 functions on one skill: damage/suppression of enemy champ, protect teammate, and he can ranged poke/farm with it. He also has 3 passives.

Get rid of his R passive, start there. He will play the same, he will just have to rely on his utility and team more, since he will have less 1v1 power, and top/jungle power. Hes pretty much just a support now anyway, so dial back his damage.

Just play him. He is VERY easy to counter him. Sure he can be a monter in the mid-late game...if you let him. I always thought to nerf Tahm Kench all the time before i started playing him. After playing him i feel that he is very vulnerable during the early game because it is then that he is very squishy, doesn't do much damage and has virtually no escape mechanic. You're crying for a nerf? The counter play here is to bully him very early. COUNTER PLAY "oh buy he can harass you with devour and his toungle lash" They're skill shots that aren't even that hard to dodge COUNTER PLAY Play early game bullies against him like Ezreal Caitlyn Gnar MissFortune Sion Renekton Riven Yasuo Yorick come to mind at first and they're plenty more. It is just like i tell people when they complain about Yasuo. Go buy him with IP. Play him. After you play about 10-20 games as that champion you learn their strengths, weaknesses, and what really excels with them. I suggest you do that with Kench because after playing him for a bit every time i see him in my lane i know how to bully him and ultimately win against him. Hoped this helped.
