How exactly are they CDR creeping AP items?
The three initial items provide 20% CDR each, they are not intended to be built together, they even have half the CDR as UNIQUE Passive. They give as much CDR as Morello gave, it's just that now you choose one out of three rather than having to build the one and the same on every Mage.
Lost Chapter now gives 10% CDR but builds into one of the three initial items so that it's earlier CDR costing 200g and it doesn't even stack with the completed items.
Morello even lost its CDR. There's one new 10% CDR item, so that you may actually choose how you get to 40% alongside with Zhonyas, Banshees and Lichbane based on who you play and what you play against. That's hardly close to CDR creep.
And how exactly will the items create damage creep based on what you said?
Initial item (Morello) used to give 100 AP. Current initial items provide circa something over 120 AP If you wait for like half the game to stack, otherwise it's 50 - 80 AP. Morello became parallel to Torment, providing 80 AP so it's nerf to Morello, no change to the slot. The new item takes place of Ludens in terms of AP. Twin Shadows provides 80 AP, so that's 10 extra AP If you take it as opportunity to replace Banshees or Zhonyas in your build path, otherwise it provides less AP than other options such as Crystal. Crystal got 10 extra AP but Void Staff lost its 10 AP.
You saw one highly upvoted video of Mordekaiser prooving his ult breaks one item and jump into assumptions (copied from the same post) and conclusion "riot creating dmg creep on ap items". Maybe just Morde's ult interacts problematically with it, maybe it's too strong generally and needs nerfs. You brought decent point with Ornn, maybe next time instead of "you are creating dmg creep" write title of actual point you are trying to make, which is "Lyandri is overbuffed".
Or If you want to complain about damage creep creeping out of the new items, bring up the actual offenders so that it doesn't sound like you tried for the most buzzwordy title ever but mean it. The offenders being Rabadon gaining 5% extra AP (which gives circa 21 - 23 extra AP most of the time and doesn't feel like the worst thing) and the new item providing up to 50 extra AP in specific windows on-demand which may end up being more dangerous.
Summa sumarum: If the itemization will be problem, before we jump to "nerf all the damages", it would be good to examine specific problems like Lyandris, and such threads would require appropriate titles. If Lyandris won't be the only problem, yet again, it would be more benefitting to list the actual problems which provide more power than would be needed. There are a lot of good ideas and concepts in the item update and it would be shame to throw it all into "dmg creep" circlejerk because of few offenders.
Thanks that's all.
