Why are Riot attempting to replace Long Range Mages with AD casters?

Why does Jhin have such a long range kit that essentially replaces Xerath and Velkoz as long range champions. I am getting sick of everything Riot does being biased towards AD champions. Jhin has essentially a Xerath ult which is a HELL of a lot better in damage and scalings and he gets a free "empowered" shot on the last one, making it more effective.

Riot why don't you just admit that you want to replace all AP casters in the game with AD versions to support your LCS Big Plays because this is getting fecking stupid. Jhinn can go midlane and practically makes these 2 champions useless because his kit is BETTER.

The current LCS "meta" of spam all the ADC's in every lane in the game is getting so boring but this is obviously what you people want for some reason.

Here's a tip, don't try to be so aggressive with your opinions. Suggest what you are thinking, and before you flame Riot ask for input, ya dingus.

Jhin is a terrible choice to go mid lane. Unreliable burst, no consistent damage, no mobility, easy as all hell to dodge ultimate, predictable playstyle... Honestly, Jhin mid is not good. Xerath and Vel have at least some sort of reliable CC. Jhin's long range stun is so often missed or dodge I wonder why they bother. Hell, have you seen a good Vel'Koz? His ult is freaking pain on steroids on drugs.

While Jhin can be played mid,he is far from replacing Xerath and Vel'koz

First of all Jhin mid is pretty terrible right now. He has only a winrate of ~41% in midlane, which is the 3rd lowest winrate of all(the only lower winrates are ryze mid and nunu support)

And Jhin can't poke like Xerath and Vel'koz in lane,I mean among his skills, his W is the only real long range poke and it isn't strong enough and you run out too fast out of mana, not to mention that you probably want to max Q first anyway because it helps a lot when it comes to getting last hits. Even in the lategame, his W is his only real poke tool among his regular abilities and it can only hit one champion, isn't that strong and has a fairly high cooldown.

Currently Riot tries to give every champ some sort of unique thing and Jhin is pretty much their AD-long-range champ, but that doesn't mean he replaces ap-long-range champs.

  1. Velkoz is getting a rework
  2. He will get stomped by these 2 champions because he lacks mobility.
  3. Jhin is essentially useless anywhere outside of teamfighting with his ult.
  4. Why is*

Have you even played Jihn? He doesn't replace Xerath or Vel at all. They have much stronger and more reliable poke that is AoE.

Jhin ulti can easily be blocked by tank

I mean, why does Jhin get a long range kit like that, Caitlyn is bearable because of her kit but this just seems like they are trying to replace skillshot mages with an AD version and it annoys me considering what a mess AP is at the moment
