The gold discrepancy between the winning and losing team should be lowered.

This is a really necessary change to the game, it would force the winning team to continue to use strategy and skill in order to finish a game and win, they will still have a gold advantage, but it will be a manageable lead for the enemy to take advantage of. So they won't be so far above the enemy team that they can just autopilot to the W. The way to do this is to remove a lot of the gold rewarded throughout the game for both teams. Lower gold gained from towers/remove tower first blood, lower gold gained from baron, lower gold gained from kills and cs slightly.

  • 90% of games will be competitive, and stomps will happen, but be more of a rarity than commonplace.
  • Losing teams won't get special privileges to help them come back, they will take just as long as now to catch up with their opponent's gold, however the gap will not be unmanageable, they can work within their hole unless they're being completely whipped out.
  • Games will last longer on average, and closing out games when ahead early can again be a skill early game focused players can hone rather than an inevitability once one team gets ahead.

Half of our games are stomps by either side, then the other half we actually get to enjoy. We need to fight for longer, more competitive games.

Not a bad idea, I would also add an additional gold supply for teams that have a team mate leave the game. Thus opening up the chance to vote to kick people off your team. and leaving a game without penalty.

This sounds more like the losing teams fault than anyones.

There's already more than enough rubber band mechanics in the game. A lot of players complain about how winning games is now more about protecting leads by only making the safest, most boring decisions to ensure you don't give the enemy catch-up xp and shutdown gold.

While I like the idea of shut down gold being shared across the team, it shouldn't have been lowered, it was already an abysmal bonus. Don't believe me? Tell me how an extra 500 gold is going to help against someone already 10 kills higher than you, don't forget being dead denies farm too. That was before the change, now it's only 150 gold per person.
