Why does Illaoi buy black cleaver first but other juggernauts get trinity force

No matter which data site I look at, they say to get black cleaver but the other juggernauts have switched to trinity force. If it really is that important to get black cleaver for her, why is it? Also if I build black cleaver, I have mana problems. Any ideas on how to solve it while still having black cleaver?

Tentacle slams apply black cleaver before they even deal their damage. So she gets the effects of black cleaver faster.

Don’t know if it’s a bug. But it’s kinda dumb.

Black cleaver gives more HP, armor shred, and the movespeed buff is triggered on any physical damage (so ad spells works too).

Triforce gives more burst and split push threat with the sheen passive.

Kill non tanks and tower/inhibs faster= Triforce

Going to hit tanks or want to be tanky= Black cleaver

Black cleaver is also cheaper if that matters.

Illaoi has no actual mobility tools to get to the backline, or any meaningful tools to be able to hit them for some time without getting kited. She spends most time hitting tanks, and all her damage is physical. Also she can't use AS Meanwhile someone like Garen can use his movespeed burst to get to enemy ADC/mage and chase them a bit with the help of his W tenacity, silence and E. He also isn't that bad against armor, with true damage R and E armor shred. And AS improves his E now. Or we can look at Darius. He has some tools (E, W) to lock enemy squishies nearby to burst them(if he manages to reach them). His E has %armor pen and his R has true damage, so, just like Garen, he doesn't rely much on BC armor shred. And AS is useful for getting those stacks to 5 faster Still, BC is better against armor stackers, like Malphite, Rammus and others

I tried Iceborn gauntlet on Illaoi. It solves mana problems, adds some more damage to her W, slow makes it harder for enemies to dodge things, and CDR is also good outside of her ult.

I asume the 'other juggernauts' you mean are darius, garen and sett. Darius and Garen both have truedamage ults and %pen/shred in their kit, they don't need BC to deal with armor. They both also benefit from AS, darius for stacking the passive and garen for his E scaleing. Set is pretty new, rather AA focused in comparsion and has plenty anti tank tools, and unlike others he doesn#t benefit much from the all physical damage speed proc cause he always needs to get into AA range first.

Illaoi Has not %pen or truedamage in her kit, hardly benefits from AS and has the worst backline acces amongst them, so getting the %pen is rather important for her. She also has alot high ranged physical damage that with BS procs the rage bonus MS that only works on AA with trinity. I'm also not 100% sure on her E, it could be that it gets double mittigated by armor(first the damage to the vessle gets mittigated, then the transefered damage to the actual champ gets mittigated aswell) in which case arpen would be even more valuable.

That said, i think vs squishy setups, trinity would be steronger on Illaoi aswell, but usually you use her as a counter pick to frontline heavy comps. Squishy opponents tend to be high ranged or mobile, and illaoi struggle alot against that.

I mean, trinity force honestly isn't bad on her either, I'd almost say it's preferable in certain cases if you're having to chase the other guy down.

I rush Titanic Hydra, auto attack + titantic active + cancel into w (with possible q follow up) to shred towers and push like a mad woman, while encouraging/threatening enemy jungler to gank.
