I just played Darius against Quinn top lane and destroyed her, something I knew wasn't possible back in S3.

Did Quinn get nerfed, Darius get buffed, I got gud or that Quinn sucked? <--- melody

The Quinn was just bad. If Quinn uses her E while your grab is still up, go ham. Same shit as when Teemo uses his Q to harass you for no reason

I did notice that after the assasin update they changed her essential items and they aren't as good.

Lethality isn't very good on Quinn imo, or at least stacking it isn't. It helps her mid game, or if she's mid, but it doesn't scale like her AD/crit build, especially against bruisers/tanks. With how penetration has been changed, literally all a tanky laner has to do to counter her is rush armor and not play like an idiot, then proceed to enjoy their easy lane.

Apart from Youmuu's (which is still core imo), she's pretty much forced into going the traditional AD/crit build path if she wants to scale into late game now, but that build is risky for a snowbally lane like top. Her position is even worse on Twisted Treeline (aka Top/mid lane the game mode), as bruisers, tanks, and control mages already reign supreme there.

Her roaming potential is the sole thing keeping her alive right now. I would argue she's better in the jungle or mid right now than she is at top. She has to get an early lead right now or her mid game is non-existent.
