I watch LCS less and here's why

Before, I was looking at LCS not just for pure entertainment but rather to pick up strategies, champions and builds which I could test in SQ. It was fun to roleplay Froggen's AP Kog (sadly ruined after rework) etc. Now, DQ makes me feel that individual rank is pretty worthless and I can't claim it's a good representation of just my own skill even after a large number of games (unlike the old system where other factors like teammates and afks sort of cancelled out for other solo players).

Some people get there solo while others do it with 3 of their friends. The emblems don't change anything about this. You can just get to your desired G5 and play mostly solo from there on. Likewise, a solo player might start just playing with his friends at a certain point and it looks like that's how he got to his rank. It's just pretty silly and meaningless. I get the intention but I think it's completely worthless.

In any case, my point is that without a ranked system that I feel one can claim as personal achievement, I also lack the motivation to take the game seriously. I'm basically just screwing around (Kassadin, Jhin or Lucian JG etc.) and as a result, I'm much less attracted to LCS. DQ just killed my competitive drive for this game.

Dynamic Queue tests an entirely different set of skills. Are you watching the map? Can you rotate to objectives to punish roaming? Do you have two wards up at all times? Can you defend your pinks?

These are all skills that can be developed and are less reliant on you having 7 ms and perfect aim with every skill shot. It's a better experience over all.

because its the same strategy over and over again. lane swap. teleport to bot lane. kill adc and sup over and over again. try to not 1v1 and depend on personal skill to outplay but always wait for ganks and tps because every fucking fight in lcs is won by outnumbering the enemy. get ahead. and then win team fights play as safe as possible getting as many turrets barons and dragons while we ahead and they can't do anything and win the game easily.

also what i hate more than that is you know the same 15 champions that get picked 99% of the times. azir viktor trundle graves you know the rest

why would you want to watch people play the game in a competitive environment when you yourself cannot unless you have a premade? hope you all are enjoying your 'ranked' normals

Watches LCS team games for sologame strategies

Learns how to play from team players

emulates people who play in a mode where you need a full team

decides to stop because now he has to play on a team or against teams and team play doesn't really matter

Guess LCS players are shitters cuz 5 man premades huehuehue, but seriously, building a team and getting the confidence of good players is also part of the game. No team system is going to account for personal skill unless you play against every combination of some specific group of people.

I guess you like strawmans. So much of what you said has no bearing on the post and the intellectual dishonesty is insulting. Where was it said that LCS teams are shittier now? Can one not experiment with a new build in SQ just because it isn't the same team environment and who said you'd copy everything? You get to figure out stuff yourself and it obviously won't always work equally well but generally, builds which are strong in competitive tend to work out just fine in SQ and can help your SQ performance if you put time to understand it. Even if it doesn't work out, the idea that it could help you climb can be motivating when you consider the ranking system valid.

Moreover, while SQ won't perfectly account for personal skill due tot he fact that it's a 5v5 game, it was still a lot less variance than DQ even for solo players. A true SQ would also be perfectly fair with an infinite number of games. It has that potential which is fundamentally good. DQ does not. A 4s DQ player and a solo player are almost playing different games with different skillsets. Even with an infinite number of games, it can still be very misleading when they have the same ranking. It's just way too ambiguous to be relevant. DQ is broken at its core for a ranked system. SQ makes perfect sense and could provide a consistent competitive experience. The factors which aren't equal are averaged out over a large sample.

lol fuck all that, this is what the convo is about since you're going here.

Theyre either boosted animals or soloqueuers with no credibility. Either way they are apparently not worth the trouble or so you say to the literally hundreds or even thousands of people who probably play the same game as you and are likely willing to play on a team with you.

Lots of unneeded words lost to the implications of the first sentence

i can relate to this, sadly riot is stupid and killing the game and refuse to see the truth as they consider thiers views are the only legit ones.

I don't watch the LCS. It's the same reason why I don't watch sports in general: I'd rather play than watch.

That and I can't pick up on sick plays the pros make.
