Why has mobility taken over the game ?

I remember back in the days (around 4 years ago), there wasn't so much mobility in game. Now I feel like 70% of the roster has a dash / an invulnerability / a blink. This was reserved to champions dedicated to it (Fizz / Leblanc / Ahri / Katarina ...).

I feel like since Yasuo was released, every single champion right after got tons of mobility / mad skillz / playz, even the reworked ones. Even some who shouldn't (why does Galio or Ornn even have a dash ?)

That's really disgusting imo, since it literally ruined the "real skill" to be able to dodge skillshot, since nowadays you can just press a button and move 40km away without effort (and how "shiny" are made the animations of these dashes, you just feel like you outplayed someone with something difficult to achieve, no, I'm not looking at you Yasuo main who's flashing his mastery 7 after pressing E twice).

I'm not an ADC main, but for instance take Draven as a champ. Draven has to sidestep a lot because of his axes, and enemies skillshots (I know, others champions too, but Draven has it harder, if mastered). It's really impressive seeing some Draven being able to dodge skillshots while catching their axes, either in teamfight, or even in lane.

Now let's take something like Yasuo or Talon (new one). Yasuo fucked up a move, who cares ? He can use his dash on a minion and move away (it still takes a few braincells to realise that his dash works like a skillshot). Talon gets ganked in lane, because he overextended it without paying attention. Talon runs away, spams his E against walls, and is safe. Since you were playing Fiddlesticks (I'm neither a FIddlesticks player, it's just to compare new kits to old ones), you can't even follow up.

I can say that I'm really disappointed how LoL turned out over the years. Making overloaded kits doesn't add skill to the game, in fact, in my opinion, it even removes the "skill" itself, since it's just way too forgiving. I'm still playing it, thanks to some friends, but I'm really starting to lose interest in the game, and I'm starting to drift away from it.

I don't care if you start saying things like "lul shut up ur just bronze", this is exactly one of the reason that makes me lose interest in it. It's not a game anymore, people don't play to have fun, only to see a "Victory" screen at the end and seeing the "Diamond division" near their names.

Because statschecks that stand in one place and wet noodle each other to death are boring

I’m a mobility junkie, I don’t relate.

Also, what Eedat said.

Everyone likes speedy heavy-hitting picks, thats why Pokemon Showdown is nearly unplayable

Different people enjoy different things, and as League grew the champion designers had better and better tools to work with, and wanted to push the limits of what they could do. Champions didn't just get more mobile, they got flashy and visually impressive. Some people were used to the old designs and expected that to stay the same, and others adapted with the times to the point where older things are not even fun for them.

Ignore the comments of anyone who has fully taken one side or the other, because as with most things the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I recall there being a great deal of dashes and a even higher amount of MS steroids. This was countered in part by a much higher % of champs with point and Click CC abilitys. For 2009 TF had Gate instead of deck and it was unholy map pressure. Tristana Tryndamere Jax Katarina Corki Shaco Kassadin Nidalee are all 2009 as well. Looking over the rooster of the some 38 champions 28 of them had dash/blink/gapcloser/MS boost. Of the remaining 10, 3 did not have Hard CC in their kit. Nasus Soraka Karthus
