This Volibear "buff" doesn't actually do anything.

Volibear - Thunder Claws (R) number of chains increased from four to eight. HAHAH I mean there's only 5 enemy champions right.... ?! So basically, it's literally useless after that and if it's for clearing waves it's also useless, big waves die pretty easily anyway if you're willing to ult for it.

5 champions you say? Volibear is on no team, therefore, there are 9 other champions.

If there are any minions in range, the ult seems to target them over champions. That's why they are doing this.

I don't think noogie ever considered that some times the chain goes on minion rather then champion since they are to far to chain it enough.

Below this stated change it also says "Bounce Logic Improved" I don't play Volibear but I don't see how 8 chains helps if its bounce logic has already been improved other than to take waves while trying to kill a champ

Its difficult to illustrate, but think of it this way:

  • If there is a Champion ------ Minion/Champion, improving the bounce logic will target the Champion over the minion.

  • If there is Champion ----- Minion ------ Minion ------ Champion, no matter how improved the bounce logic gets, you dont get to bounce to a champion outside of the bounce range. This is where the 8 chains helps.

It isnt a huge buff, but its definitely more helpful than not.

Edit - I can also see it being helpful now that there are so many champions with multiple summon. Definitely helpful in a teamfight against a Yorick or a Malz.

I guess I understand, and it isn't like volibear isn't already in an awkward spot already so a little work at a time to help I supposed

Also, getting accidental CS while you teamfight isn't a bad thing.

So you would rather up your CS count than win the teamfight?

No, I would rather do both at the same time!

It's a buff for professional Hexakill :^)

I think they are trying to designate him as a splitpushing Juggernaut

100 CD on-hit ult doesn't really do that though

Yorick Nasus Illaoi all have that role anyhow

I would've been happy with a lower cooldown. 80 seconds at rank 3 for an on-hit effect is ridiculous

Maybe they want him to be able to poke with his ult in lane??

uhhh

They want to make a new arena gamemode where it's a 10-man free for all so it's a buff?

Rito gems y u duuuu did to uuuuzzzzz?

0 dmg from ult x 8 is still 0 dmg

Well, I know it's probably not going to occur too often, but if someone is running away from you (toward their tower or something) you can snipe that last bit of damage onto them through a whole line of minions now, even a cannon wave.

I mean, 3 extra bounces can make it travel pretty damn far.
