PSA: To play ranked, know how to play ALL roles decently well
That means support.
NO, not mages that CAN support.
Actual support champions.
, etc.
Get good at them. Learn how to play them well.
Because it is fucking rude as hell when people come into a ranked game, and say, "i can't support, can i mid?" or something like that. Not only it is rude because it takes away someone's lane who they were GIVEN by from the client, they now have to be pushed to support cause you're too lazy to learn how to do it, or that "it's not fun" or "that role sucks, I can't carry." And then, who knows but that person who was so nice to GIVE you their role, they just might get AUTOFILLED next game because of you. So be a good sport and LEARN the role and play it. Cause you can go right back to a carry, high damage role the next game!
And, as it was in one of my last games, don't take a mage that's not a good bot laner down there and proceed to just roam around and try to oneshot people (Annie). This person, left Lucian to himself, died multiple times in a row and wouldn't listen to the team. That's also considered being a troll, so if you get autofilled, DON'T be a jerk like that and cost others LP because Riot gave you a role you didn't want to play.
Support can be fun, and you can carry decently well too. I've done it many times. I was even considered a support main last season cause I won more by supporting my team well.
TL/DR: Do not play ranked if you don't know how to play all the roles, because it's rude and unsportsmanlike to boot someone out of their role cause you don't know how to do it or don't want too.
