Can we talk about Zac and Alistar?

These guys were annoying before, but now, they are the very definition of frighting. Their combos if done correctly, gives them a huge shield which they did not even need because of their kit designs. Ali has his massive damage reducing ult and Zac has his passive and a hard CC ult to survive if needed. Greenfather's Gift also makes any engage already chunk the target(s) hit as well since both of these champs build a lot of health items. Can we get a slight change somewhere for the champions who currently are benefiting too much from the masteries alone?

It is literally the only thing Tanks got in a sea of damage items this patch.

It is perfectly fine; damage already out-scales tankiness times a thousand.

Let us tanks have one nice thing.

But do we nerf the mastery or the champions?

I vote for both

Ralanr3 votes

I vote for 1. Especially how it's been one day.

Penns1 votes

That one game I played against Zac with that mastery was enough to make me want it nerfed lol.

Hey man, I've had plenty of games against Fizz that made me want him nerfed.

Well Fizz isnt a simple mastery that can give tanks a 50% hp non-decaying shield for 4 seconds tho.

35%

Come on man, get your facts straight when making a point. And it straight up disappears after 4 seconds.

We all know we shouldn't focus the tank.

Penns1 votes

35% + 50+50 per level, which is basically 50% of a tanks hp, likely even more. The base shield is 700 at level 13 for example, I doubt thats gonna be 15% of anyones hp at that time, or at any time really.

Even if youre not supposed to focus tanks most of the time, that doesnt justify giving them 4 seconds damage immunity with a mastery.

4 seconds every 30 seconds.

You make it sound like they have it up with every knock up.

Penns1 votes

Not every knock up but every teamfight, which is more than enough. And 30s isnt that much, thats what thunderlords used to have and it did/does like less than 1/10 the damage that CotC can shield for.
Sure thunderlords is more consistent and stuff but still.

Ralanr1 votes

Thunderlords is early. Colossus is late.

Penns1 votes

It does help early but its also only like 10-40 damage there. I guess well see how cotc does and if it gets nerfed.

Agreed.

There is no "simple mastery that can give tanks a 50% hp non-decaying shield for 4 seconds". 7-35% is a lot different. If you assume the best situation (lands hard CC with 5 enemies in range) and then inflate the numbers by somewhere between 50% and 700% (changing 5-35% into 50%), then any champion/mastery/etc. can be OP. Example: "Fizz ult is so OP! It has 2000 range and does 2000 base damage and has 500% AP scaling and hits all 5 enemy champions!"

Thats more like saying "Fizz ult has ~1400 range". Actually it has less than 1300 but the attachment radius thing makes it ~1400

50 + 50 per level? Huh?

Official patch notes say "ARGUS : Gain a shield for 7% (+7% for each additional nearby enemy champion) of your maximum health for 4 seconds after hitting an enemy champion with hard crowd control (30 second cooldown) " (http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/patch/patch-622-notes#patch-masteries).

I checked the LoL Wiki, and it's slightly different at "Gain a shield for 20 - 190 (based on level) (+ 7% maximum health per nearby enemy champion) for 4 seconds after hitting an enemy champion with hard crowd control." (http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Courage_of_the_Colossus). Neither of those is anywhere near 50 + 50 per level.

The Wiki's is higher with 10 + 10/level, but that's waaaaaaaaay less. Is that the current in-game value or something? If it is, sounds like a hotfix worthy bug because it would be by far the best mastery in the game, and champs without hard CC wouldn't be played at all. It might be one way for Riot to get ADCs out of bot lane carry lol...

Well we are talking max shield , 10+10 per level is what you get per enemy champ around you, so you would get 50+50 per level with everyone near you. Not sure why the patch notes dont mention the base shield, but apparently there are some mistakes in the patch notes since its a pretty big patch. Ingame, the 10+10/lvl is still there.

How about no? This is how Riot intended it to be used after all. It is an initiator keystone; it does what it is supposed to.

Also, why just target these two? Just you wait until people start figuring out how powerful it is on Chogath , Gragas , JarvanIV , Maokai , Sejuani etc. It is just as good on them. Oh and Sion
