A way to buff melee vs ranged.

If there are fewer ranged champions in the game, then melees will not have as many people focus poking them. So if you reduce the nnumber of ranged champs in each game, thats a buff to melees..Agree? Disagree?

No, its not a buff at all. And it's terrible idea.

im not saying to take some ranged champions out. But I am saying that if you are the only melee in a game with 9 ranged champions, then you are going to have some trouble. On the other hand. If every champon was melee, then there would be no melee range disadvantages. Thats all im saying.

But melees aren't inherently disadvantaged. The majority of melee champs have the utility to close the distance or the tankiness to withstand the poke. I don't really understand what you're trying to argue here.

there seems to be a pretty strong opinion on the balance team that melees need a bunch of bandaids like increased base stats and stats per level. Also they have more efficient itemization and higher base dmgs.

And with this, I leave. Because you have no idea what you are even talking about.

um. melees have higher stats than ranged characters. they also have higher per level increases in those stats. thats just a fact. its also a fact that range is an advantage. im not saying that range is >> melee right now. Riot has been trying to balance for the melee vs range disparity. But I am saying that being forced to run at your enemy like olaf does puts you at a disadvantage. And for that reason, olaf has higher base AD, AR, HP.

Go compare the stats of ahri and olaf.

Melees have higher stats because they put themselves in riskier situations regardless of whether they are against ranged champions or not. That's the reason they have higher stats

if melee champions are riskier. then they are at a disadvantage. qed.

yeah, they are at a disadvantage even against other melee champions. being against ranged or not has nothing to do with melees having higher stats. They need the higher stats so they can do what they are supposed to do

And how do you expect to implement that? Put a hard cap on "ranged" champs?

Melees are generally fine anyway, there's no need to buff them/nerf ranged.

By making summoners rift a 4v4 map.

And if I decide to take 1 melee and 3 ranged?

u mean if theres one melee champion vs 4 ranged champions on the other team? Then the melee champion is better off than if he was facing 5 ranged champions. There are fewer ranged ability cooldowns for him to track and there is less ranged focus firre.

depends on why he's up against 4 ranged. If he is defending a tower he might be better off against 4 adcs than he would be against 5 tanks

have you ever seen alistar vs any adc on one-for-all?

My fucking lord those tower sieges!

a buff at a cost

most melees are placed at a disadvantage intentionally in specific situations, in others they have every advantage.
