How is a champion like Urgot okay?

For the last year...all I have seen are super SUPER tanky Urgots doing tons of damae, often the most kills on the team, while having massive CC. Sort of like Cho....a champion that does a lot really well.

But ya know, old Aatrox was bad for the game.

it's not that he's hard to play against, it's that teammates aren't all top laners and he's somewhat rare to see usually so noone knows how to fight him ergo he gets fed

Common effect of lesser played champs.

I still experience this on Yorick quite a bit, too. People just have no idea what I'm capable of doing to them (and I'm no Yorick main, I just dabble), so they end up taking terrible fights or underestimating my damage to objectives.

Urgot is probably too strong right now, yes, but it's not something needing a rework, just numbers adjustments. Old Aatrox was just garbage though, in every way; not really any reason to try and use old Aatrox as a comparison, I don't know what the point in that is.

The point was that Riot made the claim that they couldn't balance him, his kit was toxic etc...meanwhile they let BS like this exists

Everything Urgot does is telegraphed. His flip has a windup, his bomb has a delay, his flip has a windup, and you always know what knees are charged.

He also has a huge hitbox and almost zero mobility. If you let him get into the mix and duke it out, he's gonna be a monster, but if you poke him down from range, he can't do much. Mages and ADCs can demolish him if they play smart.

Against an Urgot that is fed, build armor by the midgame when teamfights are breaking out. All of his damage is physical, so armor will protect you. Avoid building health, since he can do percentile damage. If you're a tank, Thornmail is a great choice. Mages have Zhonya's Hourglass. ADCs have Guardian Angel. Items like Liandry's and Blade of the Ruined King can do wonders against him. Strongly consider Ninja Tabi.

telegraphed? SO WHAT. As usual, people like you are on here arguing as if the interaction against a given champion exists in a vacuum. It doesn't. Its dynamic, with lots of variables from team fights and other unexpected events. If it were so simple, why people die every match, no matter what level of play? Because the game does not exists in a vacuum. And when those fights happen, and he is the one tanking, CCing and doing the damage, how much he telegraphs his moves is COMPLETELY IRRELAVENT

The amount he telegraphs is totally relevant because you get the opportunity to avoid it or pop a defensive cooldown. If you listen for the audio and see him start to wind up, you can smack that Zhonya's Hourglass button and live. Or you could just not be in his extremely limited range to begin with.

No. Do you listen? You don't if its team fight, or you just got ganked or stunned, or distracted. And then, he is just an over powered champion that can poke, tank, CC and deal massive damage.

You people on these boards, I swear. You just don't get it.

The ability to recognize and react to threats in a hectic teamfight is part of being a skilled player. If you get distracted or ganked, it's the result of a skill you need to improve (awareness and game sense), not the fault of a "overpowered" champion. It's on you.

There are very, very few stuns that aren't a skillshot or on a delay in this game, and the few that exist are either on long cooldowns, have extremely limited range, or both. If you get stunned, you either failed to avoid a skillshot or you were critically out of position, and doing so opened you up to getting hit with more CC. Be unpredictable, stay in position, and dodge things.

If Urgot is in range to slow you, flip you, and mow you down and you don't have the tools to either win the trade or get out of there, then you are out of position, plain and simple. If you are pushed up without wards to warn you of a gank, then you are out of position. Take ownership of your mistakes and improve rather than blaming the balance team. You can't change Urgots numbers, and they have all the data. What you can change is your positioning, vision control, and decisions in a match/

He is super strong, but has lots of opportunities to fuck up, and miss his abilities.

AKA he is not brain-dead to play.

But when you face a really good one?

Woof.

You are in trouble.

Downvoted by the masses again. Amazing.
