Fix you fucking matchmaking, I'm tired of this one sided games
This is getting stupid. Win or Lose, one sided game 90% of the time. It's not fun.
Gold 4 vs Silver 2 top. Who wins? I'll tell you, G4 raped S2

You will never fix this problem without personal skill affecting your rank in a more meaningful way.
**Players that perform poorly, by feeding and making bad plays, yet win because of the team do not deserve to climb. **
Conversely, players that perform exceptionally well, and still wind up losing because of feeding teammates, do not deserve to fall.
Look, i get it. You have games that are one sided. But when you get 90% of the games this way, there's a big problem

Right, I was offering part of a solution. Matchmaking will always be wonky to some extent - it's a bit of an unsolvable problem.
And right now it's not to "some extent" it's literally every other game for fucks sake
I hate to be that guy, but overwatch does a good job of this. Did some scrub in his placements play like shit every game, and have low obj time or a sub 2.0 kd? well, he's not placing as high as he could if he carried every game in the stats department. the same can be done for league in terms of placements AND LP gain. did this guy go 3/10/2 with 100 cs at 30 mins but get carried by his team? cut his LP gain by 50-75% because he obviously didn't contribute. there are so many stats kept in this game, that justifying LP gains off of them wouldn't be crazy. Towers taken, Damage done, Kills, Deaths, Assists, CS, healing done, shielding done, vision score, CC score. all of these stats could play a factor in your LP gains if youre dead weight. they don't though because riot after almost 10 years still doesn't know matchmaking.
Thank you; usually I am that guy
There will never be that kind of ranked system do you know why? Because trash
players or other unskilled champs that excel at last hitting will be ranked higher meanwhile being bronze 3 at best.
I had a game recently where our Khazix stole 15 kills by waiting for the last 100 hp before ks ing costing us the game. He ended up being 15 3 0, 5 minutes later when i decided not to help he died 7 times in a row. That trash would have been ranked higher then me simply because he was ks ing, but in reality we lost the game because he stole every kill from every laner resulting in a loss. He was quashed like a cockroach he was when he jumped into 1 vs 5.
My point is there will always be those people that do not deserve to win but still getting carried by their team.

**So you find ways to design a system that looks at more than kills? ** League already has all the metrics it needs to implement such a system, in my opinion. What else you got?
i'd say its not that hard, we have many apps and websites like sumo.gg, na.op.gg, and lolwiz which count up creep score, objectives, gold earned. Is it really that hard to incorporate it into matchmaking? why would kd and win loss ratio be the only factor?

Yup. You also have other metrics like Vision that's an important part of the overall value a player brings to the team.
It would be very easy to look at how good the players are at the top and the bottom, universally, and create an effective scale.
I also think, ultimately, a win or a loss is still a very valuable metric to a players skill. Players that lose more are generally worse players, but that's not the whole story, we need to start looking at other metrics to get a better value of a players individual skill.
I'd like to inform you that Kha'zix is a champion that requires finesse to play properly. Just because the Kha'zix you played with was substandard, doesn't give you the right to call the champ menial. You don't play assassins you washed up support main, you don't understand how hard it can be to kill squishes when there is an abundance of shields and heals at their disposal. Not to mention that Kha'zix has a bigger defect than most other assassins. Simply grouping with your teammates will make him almost useless. So take this into consideration and think before you open your mouth to belittle assassin players and their skill.
I see you cant read properly. I said its easy to last hit with assassins I never said playing well requires no skill. I'm not a support main lol. At least do your work properly if you try to argue with me. You can clearly see I main mages from my mastery points.
First time I tried playing Khazix went 26 3 10 and got instant S+ . Definitely a hard champ.
Assassins are easy to play when it comes to getting kills. They are useless late game when the enemy has a brain and groups. There is a reason why assassins were considered the most braindead cast of champions by the way ever since i joined league 4 years ago.
Have you seen people calling :
skilled?
Only skilled assassin was
even then he was pretty BS.
Getting kills early when teams aren't grouped is, of course, easy for an assassin. What I was referring to difficult in my reply above was later in the game. And yes there are people that call assassins skilled. Just because you don't think so, doesn't mean they aren't. When you lane as an assassin you have to position in a way to punish others mispositioning. If you don't do this then you won't be able to truly scale. There is also the aspect of playing from behind as an assassin, in which you are almost useless. No champion in this game is genuinely braindead, that includes assassins. Each of them requires a knowledge of some sort to get fed and then start doing damage. That Akali didn't go 5/1 because she sat under turret. She did a good job of exploiting the enemy mid's bad positioning and turned those mistakes into kills. The damage coming from assassins is also pretty fair. If the enemy Zed or Talon has 6 kills and two items completed it would make sense for them to hurt. If they catch squishes farming out a side lane alone, in which they always do, they are gonna one shot the. In my opinion, the thing that is unskilled if how you are supposed to counter and assassin early game. Everyone on the enemy rushes Ninja Tabi and until you buy armor pen, your damage is pathetic. There should be a way for players to counter fed assassins, but by buying that one, enemy squishes can continue to run free without much worry of being one-shot. Thank God that item is being nerfed.
I don't give a damn if assassins are considered fair or unskilled. I'm commenting on personal performance and the example was simply khazix he is really easy to last hit with Q. You started arguing me about a nonsense I don't care about. Your whole point is useless, we discuss different topic.

OK, but let's think this through a little more. If those who perform exceptionally well don't lose due to weak teammates, those same teammates will climb! That means that the system will then match them in the wrong game overestimating their skill. Thus the cycle continues.
And no, I don't think they should ever consider anything besides W/L for matchmaking. It becomes too much about KDA padding and subjective in that way. The thing is, you actually can carry really hard in this game still but only if you're MUCH better than the rest and pick champs with solo carry potential like Riven, Cass, Vayne, Nasus, Darius, Tryndamere etc. If you're much better but yo're playing Ezreal, I kind of think you won't be able to do it. The same goes for Zilean mid or Taric support. You can still win over 60% but you won't get those 70% winrates you see from boosters or smurfs. However, with enough games, you'll still get where you deserve as long as you don't tilt too much from the losses. Also, those kinds of winrates are unsustainable anyway unless you're smurfing on a bronze account. Once people reach their actual ELO, winrates tend to hover between 48% and 52%.
So, what you're saying is 'fuck supports and non-solo carries'?
You will never fix this problem without personal skill affecting your rank in a more meaningful way.
bull-fucking-shit.

To all the nay-sayers, imagine if you could only rate NFL players by their wins/losses. Thats NOT HOW WE DETERMINE what is GOOD.
Also, ELO rating is only meant to work in 1vs1. (Or consistent teams treated as a single entity). It just barely works in random matched team games, and you have to hit STATISTICALLY LARGE numbers for it to start doing a decent job. Even people without jobs don't play enough league games to hit the sweet spot for ELO ranking to be working correctly in soloq.
There's definitely some issues with matchmaking this season that I haven't seen before.
I haven't played a lot of ranked this season (~100 games or less, IIRC), so I haven't really pulled my rank or MMR up to where they should be, so I'm sitting at Gold II promos with low/mid Plat MMR. I've consistently had games where I checked the rankings of players on both teams and there have been huge differences in rank (as well as MMR as estimated by op.gg, other sites). Silver IV top-laner on a bad losing streak versus a Plat II top-laner on a huge winning streak. The system used to specifically avoid something like this, but I see it more and more often this season. Of course that low Silver player was going to get dumpstered. and what the rest of my team do? Flamed him into oblivion. It's not a competitive experience. It's unfun for the losing team. and by far the worst part of it is how badly that Silver player must have felt being matched completely out of his skill level and then verbally abused by players who didn't understand that they probably would have gotten dumpstered just as hard, if not harder.
Though I will say in response to OP that it's normal to put people within three divisions of one another in the same game at lower Elos. The skill difference between a Silver II player and a Gold IV is noticeable, but not "wtf autolose"-levels of difference as the example I cited above.
Matchmaking is indeed totally flawed: one-sided games happen nearly always; no way it's just statistics or so. And was the same 1 year ago, in my experience.
Now FINALLY everyone can see it, because the snowballing effects got out of control, so the consequences of this flawed systems are really evident :D Are they gonna do something? Unlikely, but maybe, finally..
It might also be the extreme snowballing, that is causing the onesided matches
I used to believe that. But it's not the only problem. The games are super unbalanced skill wise. I don't know if this is a problem in higher elo, but silver-gold, the skill difference its HUGE, like to a point where a whole team can play safe and freeze and the other dive in with no reason making int 15-5 in under 10 min
It might also be the extreme snowballing, that is causing the onesided matches
Tru. My lane phase is pretty crap, even in a favorable match up, but I team fight miles above my rank. But if I can never get to that point.... Hmmm.
Working on my lane phase mechanics hard, but doesn't solve anything if the enemy jungler and top come out of the lane phase 6-1 and 7-1 respectively, and I can only muster up 3-0.
Isn't any more fun when the shoe is on the other foot and we just roll over them either.
MMR is quite fucked, just because i was g1 because of inactivity last season, got dropped to s1 now after placements, took me few hours to get to gold. And in placements i had p5 p4 enemies who were very shitty and played worse than average silver.
s2 and g4 aren't even that far apart lmao
Well no, but that G4 will prob play with G2, which is a totally different world than S2 and get some tricks. Also it was just an example. Not the point
well carry the silvers then [slayer-jinx-wink] (Although since around 7.12 its been really hard to solo carry people like jax, trynd fiora darius and irelia can still do it tho)
I'm not that good to solo carry, I just want balanced games to have fun. And nobody should be demanded to solo carry a game, it's a team game
its soloq for a reason YOU have to be better then your team and/or enemies
Yea rank doesn't mean a whole lot at low elo. Person could be auto filled in to a role they don't know, or can run into a diamond Smurf that is low silver that destroys your whole team. Is match making busted , no doubt. Too me any one below s1 should all start bronze 5. The good players will get out easy, the bad ones stay where they belong.
It's bullshit, it's all random luck and i'm starting to get sick of this game. Just now. 20+ kills kaisa, vs an ADC that had to go melee range with Jhin.
Not how it works. The s2 / g4 are at the same real rating (unless one of them is duoing with someone). Matchmaking doesn't care about what league you're in at all, that's just for show. Matchmaking is based on ELO. Elo rises when you win, goes down when you lose. The league system is just designed to be easy for normies to understand.
Rank, I don't think is the main criteria for matchmaking, MMR is
yea honestly when your top lane garen with darkharvest that rushes swiftys just to ks and loose the game really dont belong. and if you really are trying to climb it gets quiet anoying when this garbage gets you, rince and reapeat to get back down to b V
Matchmaking is the worst it has ever been. Riot will never fix it. Switch games, int or play off meta. Those are your options.
A few more unbalanced losses and I will prob go troll tbh. I don't care anymore. I invest time and the game is pissing on me

That's what you gotta do. I started playing ADC top to have fun. The problem is, the worst player on your team is dictating the win/loss as well as adc. If I play tank meta top, and my team feeds, then im basically useless for 20-40 minutes.
Noobs are ruining the game and Riots MMR system doesnt work.
Can honestly agree with the off meta. I just hit random and play for fun, because it's near impossible to keep my sanity if I play seriously.

Glad I am not alone. People don't understand that your team is going to feed regardless of who you play. So why not have fun playing off meta.
lol there's really not much difference between gold 4 and silver 2.
I get evenly matched games until my promos, and then Riot suddenly jumps the gun and makes my silver 3 midlaner face a gold 1 midlaner. Guess who stomped? G1...
THIS! and fix this retarded noobstomper Nasus - it doesnt help when me and maybe the jungler know to play vs him and my botlane always facehugs him. ALWAYS.
Yeah, nasus is sick atm in low elo
Yeah I am low elo but it doesn't help when I know how to play vs nasus when 3 other teammates have no fcking clue.
I know, it's sad really in silver
i would love the random lv.30s that just speed leveled without any experience to stop going straight to ranked, they should have at least one or two M6 champion to select ranked draft
They should all get to b4 without question. Another retarded decision riot does is to add a lvl 30 in silver
I haven't had a SINGLE balanced match this season. Just dumb roflstomps ALL the time. There's either a lucky unranked that got to gold even though he obviously didn't deserve it on our team or our enemy team. This season is absolutely the worst ever. Riot needs to stop giving new players a hand and treating them like their precious babies that can just get placed gold while veteran players just get completely ignored. It feels riot literally wants veteran players to hate the game and quit.
