Why does Pantheon get such a better rework than Mordekaiser?

Moody P··4 votes·1,340 views

Look at all the cool shit Pantheon gets and look at how good his skins are; and all the high tier ones get new VFX and even backing animations. Mordekaiser has ONE skin above 975 and it still mostly has base VFX. Mordekaiser gets to be summed up as AP Darius with Sunfire and all he does is proc passive and sit on you with it. Pantheon is fishing for execution snipes and blocking tons of damage in whatever direction he aims at.

Pantheon skill cap has gone way up thanks to how you can use his passive Q and E. Mordekaisers has arguably gone down on his entire base kit because of his passive, ult and new W. He's legitimately easier than Garen, I think. His entire base kit is so bland and boring that I've already gotten tired of playing him. Id rather have the ghost back than anything new Mord is doing.

Matter of fact why has every juggernaut rework since Yorick blown chunks? Him, Urgot and Aatrox are all weak updates too.

I'm glad Pantheon is the first new release between reworks and champions that I've been excited for in 2 years, but you could have handled your last few reworks better.

Isn't this what old Morde's W used to do? Aside the fact being refreshable.

Old Panth's passive & E passive does that too, but WOAH, Morde's new kit sucks ay huehuehue.

Panth's new Q has already been highly requested to it being a skillshot, so there's no surprise about it. Morde's old kit was honestly a lot more brainless than the current one, since his new E is an actual skillshot rather than instant terrain-targeted & his Q being a skillshot instead of a 1-2-3 bonk. Not only that, ridiculous enough, Morde doesn't even have an ult if enemy gets a QSS.

This is wrong one some amount of level. Apparently being able to land 3 hits to proc the passive compared to spin2win Garen with just Black Cleaver is somewhat easier now, huh. Not only that, Garen has a passive Resistance increase & CC-reduction on his W whereas all Morde got was a typical shield.

Pro-play says otherwise. Even both Urgot & Aatrox has higher pickrates than Yorick in S9, so what shit are you on..?

I feel like this compliments were towards in awe of his rock-hard pecs, new face & helmet, not balance-related stuffs.

Honestly, I respected Pmoody's opinions before, even when I didn't agree, but he's demonstrated incredible prejudice with little to know backing. In fact, i'd say his view point is actually selfish and blind. Needless to say, I no longer have the same respect.

interesting that pro play means Urgot and Aatrox are suddenly good designs but Irelia and Akali are failed reworks because of their dominance in pro play

micromanaging a ghost and using old W to optimize damage vs healing are harder than anything new Mordekaiser does. muh skillshots are not difficult and neither is hitting something 3 times for a permanent in fight damage buff.

Though i like mordekaiser rework, except yeah for the lack of love for his skins vfx, i agree with you for the lack of love on almost every rework after the yorick one.

Pantheon was a great rework, they took what the champion was in term of gameplay and character and they improved him.

Swain for example is what i call a failed rework. It wasnt made for swain players or who liked him before, they created a totally new champ changing everything, theme, gameplay, character etc. Nothing from the old one got improved

What's wrong with Urgot's update? I am absolutely in love with it.

Urgot is a generic filler juggernaut who plays for fantasy fulfilment more than strategic value

Chembaron Yamada1 votes

Hm, slightly disagree with that. He is the only juggernaut with a long range execute, enabling him to create picks for his team with the slow added to it.

and that's fine too. urgot is super fun to play, and delivers far better than the old urgot ever did. you're just salty af dude.

They just suck at designing Juggernauts

My only complaint about the new Mordekaiser is his ultimate. Either you play a mobile champ to dance around all his damage while you wait for it to end or you build QSS to negate it entirely.

It has counter play, sure, but it really is a pass or fail ult to be entirely honest.

Urgot received a good update in my opinion. He used to be considered a troll pick. Nowadays, he's so meta that he sometimes breaks the game. He works with so many runes with Conqueror being his latest craze. He's a ranged Juggernaut who excels in duels and splitting, but fails in team fights and focused attacks.

Aatrox update was, admittedly, a critical error in judgment on Riot's part. On release, he became nigh-unkillable. Players would rush GA just to give him 3 lives in every team fight and force enemies to focus him so as to guarantee his team Baron, Drakes, and Turrets. Players got so accustomed to being able to play inting Aatrox that it's no wonder people became upset over the removal of his revive from his ultimate. What Aatrox is now is a less effective drain tank than what he used to be.

pantheon's rework feels more considered but a lot more technical work went into morde's rework so eh. it's likely just a matter of the kit allowing them more creativity akin to irelia's where the thematic wasn't fully being delivered on. as opposed to a theme shift like aatrox, morde, urgot. akali is a theme evolution and she has myriad problems which i won't get into. though it must be said those are some good reworks, seems unfair to say that rito have elevated the bar on this panth one though granted they likely want folks to say that.

Morde got a brand new kit. Pantheon mostly has the same exact kit with a bit more modern features.

urgot update was awesome, even if they got some finer points or some balancing a little off. Old urgot sucked.

New morde is good enough, he was arguably just as simple, if not simpler, before, and you just don't want to admit it.

Aatrox is OP and not true to his prerework identity, yet his kit concept is actually quite good overall, even if his ult has been a mess and his numbers and/or cds need to be nerfed.

honestly, I think you are just biased. Though I admit that morde's update makes him similar to darius in some ways, he is nonetheless quite different too because of ult and shielding.

If anything, older juggers like darius need more complete updates like the new ones if they want to compete at all in years to come. He's beginning to age very poorly, despite his incredible numbers buffs in the last two years.

Ha Moody, you really are just a rabble rouser looking for trouble and rarely offer constructive criticisms or useful insights. You just want some things to never change, and if change does happen, it has to be YOUR way. Just another lofty whiner.

And you cloak that childish whininess with an air of superiority and general condescension. Honestly, just get a life dude. We all get it, you hate reworks. You hate that voli will get a rework soon. But guess what, your opinions are incredibly marginal and the things you want out of this game don't represent what most players want.

There are a lot of problems with this game, and a lot of great things about how this game USED to be. That being said, it's going to change no matter what, and you can't let nostalgia stop you. This isn't chess, which is virtually unchanging. It's league and it's always been based off change
